Cheapest price I could find for this dehumidifier. Seems to be the next model up from the hugely popular DD122 MK 5. Even with postage it's cheaper than £179.94 direct from the manufacturer, £169.98 from Tesco or £179.94 from Amazon.

On the lookout for a dehumidifier but a bit out of my price range unfortunately. Heat added though.
Is this a very expensive unit to run? The wattage rating seems high? Advice please!!
I'm not sure what you gain in practice from spending more?

From what I can tell (and I've done quite a lot of research!) these dessicant dehumidifiers are cheaper to run than the lower watt rated refrigerant ones as they switch themselves off when the desired humidity is reached. Here's a website with some more info

Many refrigerant ones can also turn themselves off when the set humidity is reached.
This guy explains why it's worth spending the extra on this model.
20 quid off if you sign up to which for £1 - seems a good unit for 130?
This unit is amazing I've been waiting for the price to go down to get a second one
2% Quidco also

Pretty stingy isn't it

Running costs are approximately double that of a refrigerant unit, in rooms over 10C. In colder spaces like an empty garage the desiccant wins hands down.

These put out some of the energy used as heat.. which may be a pro or a con depending on the intended purpose.

The other thing to bear in mind is the very high failure rates of desiccant types. EcoAir upped their warranty to two years after complaints of units breaking down so quickly, but if you check the 5 star reviews on Amazon - many owners have returned to update their reviews to mention this.
Thanks OP, bought it for £140 with the £20 discount, plus £10 next day delivery.

How do you get the discount applied? The unit is still £149.98 but the "Which?" discount is only valid on orders over £150. I signed up and have a discount code but the site says it's not valid...
