CASINO ROYALE'S Martin Campbell returns to familiar territory with this adaptation of his own 1985 BBC miniseries -- a mystery starring Mel Gibson as a detective looking into his political-activist daughter's death and uncovering layers of governmental conspiracies in the process. William Monahan (THE DEPARTED) provides the screenplay for the GK Films production, co-starring Ray Winstone and Danny Huston

Matches the HMV price, that was posted a few weeks ago. Not bad fora fairly recent film.

this. if you think the story sounds interesting then skip the movie and get the original BBC mini-series instead. it's one of the greatest TV dramas ever made.

Decent film.

Decent film.

Maybe ... but as others have said get the TV series which ~25 years after it was originally shown was still stunning when I watched the DVDs last year. "Remakes" can be ok but are rarely as good as the original

Great film, only got negative reviews because Mel is an insane racist.

TV series, I found slow and boring.

of course you're entitled to your opinion. that said, it's seen as being one of the greatest dramas 80's alongside GBH, The Singing Detective and the like...
