Great we set of speakers! Use them with my technica lp120 turntable 👌
Good speakers, great price. Fairly quick delivery from Germany as I bought these the last time they were this price.
Look good. Fee free card would be around £74 no?
When I made a Deal post about the R1280DB, I did get a few mentioning Amazon de, but be aware cutting the plug invalidates the warranty. A lot of info about both speakers in the older thread, here

I have my Edifier R1700BT speakers hooked up to an FX Audio DAC-X6 if anyone's interested, mentioned here
Can't really speak for long-term use as I've just connected them, but they sound good.

Run them through a travel adaptor then?

You could. I made that mistake with an EU kettle - it shorted and the prongs melted in the socket* ! I make a point of putting new plugs on now (if possible). Think you'd use a 5A fuse for these Edifiers, not sure.

You could use one of the screw-in adaptors, for those who won't/can't wire in a UK plug. (Actually, I think German plugs are Schuko plugs, which are different).39759329-i56WK.jpg*I'm not being dramatic, it really happened!

Edit: You can do the screw-in plug method with Schuko plugs, forgot that my coffee machine came supplied with one, d'oh.
Much more reliable than an adaptor. 39759329-D4pVp.jpg

Would it be any good to use with a alex?
Should be a safer bet than Sonos!

Is a pair of these enough? I’m after minimal setup too

Would these be good for a party in a small church hall, as in loud enough?

80 - 20,000 Hz frequency response would put me off those

the edifier probably only extends slightly deeper. The "55hz" rating is disingenuous and only applies when the bass dial is at max (which also boosts the lower midrange out of control), you can do that with any speaker. 4 inch woofers with 20wpc won't do 55hz flat at any decent volume.
