Could someone explain the cold votes? Can't see this cheaper anywhere!

I think the description of this product is misleading as it doesn't contain any kind of 3G device, it's a portable wireless access point which you have to add your own 3G device to in order to make it useful. Meaning your going to have to add about £10 to £20 to the price and you will be left with more bulk to carry around. WIth the right app or firmware many phones can now share their 3G connection via wireless, this would be a better option in my opinion for occaisional use.

What's wrong with this?

Point taken, but It also works as a wired router in two different ways:

plug into a wired network point (e.g. on wall in hotel), and share that over wifi.
or plug into a non-wifi pc and it will give internet access via ethernet.

I guess it does do the same job, only difference being it does not have it's own battery. This could be an issue for some people but not others.

This is a good deal its effectively the same as a MiFi as it operates of a battery and doesn't require a USB connection. Perfect for an iPad in combination with one of those cheap T-Mobile 3-month data SIMs.

No, it's a lot more clumsy than a mifi as you need a USB 3G modem as well. Did you read anything up there^?

Yes your right didn't realise that. Bit strange they are advertising it as a 3G router then.

If you are just looking for portable 3G then get yourself a mifi, great bits of kit. Makes this one look positively antediluvian. However if you are also looking for a portable wi-fi router for use in wired hotel rooms etc then this could be a good solution.
