Just bought one, I have a built in wireless card, but only get one signal bar because the router is downstairs. Hopefully this will make a difference.

Am i right in thinking that Quidco on this would only work out at 6p?

Instead, there are very few purposes to have more than one Wireless LAN card on a computer.

What make/model is your brother's laptop?

Blimey, umm, its an acer aspire but i have no clue what model, its a few years old now, has about 40gb hd and runs xp home

Dependant on the exact model, a USB stick may not be the only option. The laptop may actually have a wireless LAN antenna built into the screen and mini-pci slot for an internal wireless card.

Im sure it hasnt, he had to buy a PCMCIA card to enable him to go wireless and i think he looked into it,

Used to get a lot customers walk into the shop I worked in, asking for Wireless PC Cards.

Many of them didn't even realise that their laptop model had a slot on the underside that could take a wireless card.

If it is a Pentium 4/4M it's a may be, if it is a Pentium M than they usually have slot/antenna built in.
