Ideal for the festival!

Note the ticket valid for all buses and tram (city fare) only, i.e. not valid if you were to take the tram or bus 100 from the airport.

However you can take bus 35 from the airport and alight at Ingliston Park & Ride and transfer onto Tram for a ride to the city - provided you don't have much luggage.

You'll need a smart phone to purchase the m-ticket. See below.

------------------------------------------

Get into town to catch a show and stay out late - let our buses do the driving.

DAY&NIGHTtickets are valid from 6pm to 4.30am on Lothian Buses day services, Edinburgh Trams (city fare zone only) and on our Nightbuses.

Download the official Transport for Edinburgh app and select “My m-tickets”.
Activate m-tickets app and set up your account.
Navigate to “Browse and Buy Tickets” and then tap on “NightBuses”.
Tap on “Festival Offer” and add to your basket
Checkout and pay with a registered debit or credit card to download the m-tickets to your phone, ready to be used any day after 18:00.

Activate the mobile ticketing function after downloading the official TfE app for free on Android or iOS. M

Not as good a deal as I first thought. Day & night is a bit misleading when they can only be used between 6pm & 4.30am. I would think most people would be better using the day saver ticket @ £3.50 which gives you unlimited travel all day until midnight. I will still give it heat as it may suit some people using the night services rather than a taxi.

Night buses are also only part-route as well as less travelling less frequently.

Gosh aren't we getting cheap public transport - NOT !!!!

Public transport in this country is nothing but a joke - not provided to move people effectively or cheaply - provided to make a profit!!!

A recent visit to Malta (tiny island tiny public income) provided my wife & I a 7 day bus pass "hop on hop off" use throughout the island for the pricely sum of $6.50 (that should be Euro sign but works pc seems to not believe in the Euro)

Now that is cheap good public transport & our local governments should be ashamed at what they provide & charge us!!!

A country with a lower GDP and less of an area to create a transport infrastructure has cheaper transport? shocking!

cowsmoooo

A country with a lower GDP and less of an area to create a transport … A country with a lower GDP and less of an area to create a transport infrastructure has cheaper transport? shocking!

A country with lower GDP, YET willing to fork out to create cheaper transport network you mean?

So you can get an all day ticket for £3.50 or this one for evenings that works out £2.50 per day. The first option seems the best and more flexible to me, unless I'm missing something??

The all day ticket does not include night busses. These evening ticket is good for folk going up town in the evening and will be missing last bus home / going out into the early morning.

i.e. useless for tourists who will be out during the day!
