£23 promotional discount applied at checkout (or use code RNBRW5UY). This is an excellent deal! I paid £40 for this back in November. I have it set up looking at my front door and drive. The cloud service is great value. I highly recommend this camera. So easy to set up and the app is excellent. Very well built.

Suspect like all with IR facility, they will be fine in daylight, but …Suspect like all with IR facility, they will be fine in daylight, but when it goes dark, the IR lights come on automatically and will reflect off the window and white out the camera. Some have the facility to turn off the IR lights, and provided there is sufficient illumination outside, a streetlight close by or a security light perhaps, will be able to show useful pictures.Don't know if these have that ability as I don't have one.

I have my IR light turned off and it works perfectly during the night due to sufficient street lighting. Here is a picture......

promo offer is a bit sneaky. Wording at first is "1 for £23"
No idea if any good mind. Do they look through windows with no problem?
Is it powered by USB or mains? Doesn't say on amazon

32912212.jpgYou can turn off the IR option in the app.

And my living room also reverts to colour when there is sufficient light (e.g when my Hue lights go on/off)

Excuse my ignorance, but does this pan in a motorised way or is it a fish eye type set up? Does it need or take Ethernet if WiFi is poor?

Pans in a motorised way. Not sure about ethernet use. Not had a problem with my wifi.

Ok camera, have 2 of them. Cloud recording is expensive but you can put a micro sd card into these and record on that.

Motion detection gets set off very easily as you can’t tell it which specific areas to detect.

Looking through a glass is impossible with ir on. Turn it off and it is better but need some light in your garden or it is pitch black. Also if you have some sort of ambient light in the same room it will just see reflections in the window.

Pan and tilt is pretty good and is nicely controllable from your app. There is no Ethernet port.

The image quality is ok, not fantastic and number plates are not really readable.

All in all it is ok. But I’m looking to upgrade to a system with cheaper cloud recording even if the initial price of hardware is more expensive.

I think these do have the ability to turn OFF the IR within the app.

You click where it says "1 for £23"...then you see a "redeem" button. Click that. It will then auto discount in the checkout process. Total cost will be £36.99 after all discounts are applied.

Can this be used out doors?

If it were put outdoors, it would need to be under some sort of protected overhang or something. It is NOT waterproof.

Cool thanks was looking for a IP rating so that answers that
Is this is waterproof? I can't see that it's suitable for outdoor use? I'm probably blind.

um...you are extremely blind, I feel. The question you just asked here, has literally just been answered, by me, for another user, just above your question!
Haha. I posted it after reading all the comments. Fool that I am.
thanks . bought one
That's a really good price. For anyone that owns one of these, a couple questions:

1. What kind of notifications does it provide? For example, does it allow push notifications on iPhone / Android?
I'd use it as a baby monitor and would be good if it could make a sound / alarm if the baby was crying or got up and started moving around.

2. Is it easy to have it set up with Wifi and at what frequency?
The last similar cam I bought didn't work very well over wifi (virgin) at 2.5ghz or 5ghz. It worked fine only with an ethernet cable. We have great wifi coverage across the whole house, but for whatever reason, the last one just didn't connect.

Thanks.

1) It has a built in baby monitor mode which I haven't used. I get push notifications whenever it detects movement. It also has a microphone and speaker, so can be used for 2 way audio.

2) Works perfectly fine with my router. I use BT infinity. I have tried it my parents who have the latest virgin fibre router and it worked perfectly well there aswell. I don't think you will have any problems.

Seems like Yi plan to fix the temporary lack of iOS App shortly

From the description of the Yi Home 720p camera...

"For a better customer experience, YI Home App for iPhone is temporarily not available in Apple store because of firmware upgrade. Please wait few more days and sorry for the inconvenience.)"
I bought one in November. Quite impressed with it so far.
Pros are (i) Picture quality is good. (ii) I find the set up damn easy. (iii) The app is simple and works on my iOS and my wife Samsung/Android with ease (iv) Multiple users can view (v) does not look cheap

The cons are (i) Expensive cloud storage - but again you can write to SD card (ii) The motion detection sets off very early - by the time we open the door the clip (usually 6-8 seconds) is finished, that means on the day of break in we can't see any glimpse of who break-in the house. (iii) It also picks up moving cars light down the street if put on high frequency. Its not exactly a con but it is very annoying. (iv) hard USB wiring

In spite of cons I would recommend the product due to its pros.

Mate, the 6 second clip is just a preview of the total length of clip. At the end of the preview, it gives the option to view the full recorded clip. I'm sure you've not clicked on that. I find that there is always a longer clip to view.

From your original post, I take it you use an SD card? I use cloud storage, so when I click on "entire clip" it takes me to the following screen:32915016-k1AmD.jpg
If you then swipe slightly on the timeline and select the highlighted areas, it will playback the whole clip recorded and then you can rewind and forward according the to the time the clip was recorded. The timeline changes to show the shades areas better:
