I personally would book direct with airline, that way any changes or extras you can do them yourself, Their prices are not live, friends used them once to book a flight to vegas, they took payment then flight increased by another £200, they have the worst customer service ever, I suppose if booking cheap seats an extra £15 off is ok, but you more in control if you book direct.

marchitecture

Prices are more expensive than Skyscanner so much for their moto "clear prices no suprises"

mephestic

dont use them - I would not be sat here this early in the morning wasting my breath telling you if I didnt strongly feel you are about to be screwed over with these guys. I bought flights to budapest accidently from them as they have designed their website to be exactly like RyanAir and I thought they booked instantly with them - they dont. They take your booking and then try book with RyanAir - about 4 hours later and no confirmation and the flights were filling up with RyanAir so I had to go through the hassle of trying to cancel with Edreams which is no easy task. Cancelled my debit card because I couldnt get any assurances from them that it would not be charged.

Note the terms on Ryanair's site... 2. Exclusive online distribution channel. This website is the only website authorised to sell Ryanair flights, whether on their own or as part of a package. Price comparison websites may apply to enter into a written Licence Agreement with Ryanair, which permits such websites to access Ryanair’s price, flight and timetable information for the sole purpose of price comparison. I'm sure they've cancelled flights that have been sold by screenscrapers in the past.

Booked direct with Aeroflot, £259 in May next year for 2 weeks. No cashback, but it's only 1% and is best deal direct with the airline; in case any problem. Wouldn't touch edreams, opodo with a barge pole. Also available from Rome appox. £10 cheaper.

Digital_plumber

Booked for June next year, £260. Good deal in my book. Thanks to the OP. Booked via expedia and worked fine

Saw this deal few months ago didn't take it due to airline. I'm tempted

This deal or similar price has been available quite a few times. It's been on various sites not only edreams. I've booked a trip for December/January a few months back at 240. Got my details/confirmation through from Aeroflot right away so that was positive. I've read comments of others who took the deal, mostly all positive. Some had a change in Moscow and some indicated that they stopped in Moscow and stayed on same plane.

Bardak

Aeroflot is rubbish, I won't use them for such a long flight. Japan is a wonderful country though, I want to go back :(

So this is a completely cold deal - because once all the charges have been added it costs more than booking directly through the airline - but it's at 255 degrees heat?

Given the problems and false pricing with this company I really don't thing they should be allowed on HUKD

could have sworn I paid about 50 quid for an express 30 day visa in Calcutta this year?

buglawton

The Tripadvisor link above gives good info. It seems that you'll need to stay in Beijing in a standard hotel that will validate the 72 hour visa usage. This might rule out staying with friends/relatives or using Airbnb.

Easier said than done.. I recently spent over £1000 on flight tickets from Opodo and on the confirmation page it told me the tickets were provided through eDreams.. Having said that, the reservation seems genuine, I've e-ticket numbers and a call to the airline got my seat assignment done.

That's exactly what we did :), made sure there was a long enough wait so that we'd have a reason to need the bags.

platterfish

Just returned from LAX. At check in they were ready to put my bags to Oslo, I pointed the 23 hour difference out and they just printed them to LHR. Wasn't an issue. Great trip, thanks again to the op.

redspelly

They were checking my bags right through to Oslo even though my flight was the following day but I had a live chat with Virgin before my trip and they clearly said my bags would be accessible at London - I showed the check in desk this and they ripped up the Oslo tags and changed them to London tags.

bob99999

yep they always make you pick up your bag in LHR if the connecting flight is 24hrs later shame you couldn't make it :)

ghow007

Ok here's my update having just returned from NYC on Tuesday morning after 6 days there. I flew out with Delta which was pretty bog standard. Had a great 6 days out there having booked an apartment through Airbnb which was close to Central Park and easy subway access. Get the 7 day unlimited subway/metro pass if you're intending to use it as it's worth way more than its $30 value and I used mine loads to get all over the city! A New York Pass is also good value if you intend on doing lots of sightseeing. I'd got one previously and did it again this time to see lots of bits I hadn't done last time - there are discount codes online to reduce this price further - got a 2 day pass for $119 and picked it up over there. The flight back was amazing - apart from the check in. When I got to JFK the initial check in and boarding pass/bag check in was fine, however the security check line was immense and was queuing almost out the entrance door to the terminal! So get there in plenty of time in case this is a regular thing. I had to literally push my way through the queues and ask staff for help just so I didn't miss my flight, and the other guys queuing were extremely helpful and understanding. I flew back with Virgin and managed to get a seat on the upper deck - having changed my seat online the previous night when I checked in 24 hrs earlier. As a result there were 3 cabin crew serving about 10 people in economy where I was and the 4 in upper class, so I got free champagne, extra food and drinks and was so well looked after. The staff were amazing. I did not bother asking for my luggage to be checked to LHR when checking in at JFK as based on previous posts this was a pointless task. On arrival at LHR I picked up my bags along with everyone else in the same terminal I arrived at - terminal 3. No need to go to terminal 5 or speak to BA staff. My final leg flight was to Oslo and was almost exactly 24 hrs later, so I don't know if this made any difference with the bag. Unfortunately I couldn't make this flight!!!!!! Also at JFK they didn't ask me where my final destination would be e.g Oslo, and that possibly had something to do with the online check in which just showed my flight from JFK to LHR. I did this on the Virgin App which was really useful. Anyway guys, this was soooooo worth the trip with the cost of the flight so big big thanks to the OP for this deal. Effectively the extra leg to Oslo made no difference whatsoever for me with regards to my bags or questions asked or anything. I hope the rest of you enjoy your trips away and have an equally good experience.
