Muhle has the same head as the Edwin Jagger.
Lovely razor. Bought it as my first a number of years ago and still use it daily.

Muhle has the same head as the Edwin Jagger.

Oh really. I thought Edwin was made in England while muhle in Solingen?
Anyone with hand problems looking for a good grip this still looks like it might still be quite slippery as the knurling isn't well defined when you look close. Prolly better than the Lined or smooth but there are grippier handles about.
Is there a voucher or anything to apply?
I'm not getting the usual promo boxes on this

I don’t find it slippy but it is short so may not be comfortable if you’ve large hands. It not an aggressive shave either so perfect if you’ve sensitive skin or starting out with a DE razor.
I remember hearing that the Edwin and muhle were the same a number of years ago and just rebranded. Not sure how true it is. I brought a muhle one years ago and used the astra blades. Since getting a new job that doesn't require shaving everyday it's been relegated. I know just use a beard trimmer. I've heard really good reviews on Edwin stuff though.

Looks like the deal that’s been posted is for first time S&S so not for everyone
Thanks OP had one before and liked it finally gave up replacement not as nice to use.
Jagger is a terrible name for something you are going to scrape across your face.

Not the R41 doesn’t

No this is a DE89/R89 head which is straight bar and fairly mild. The R41 is an open comb razor that's more aggressive. But the point still stands, the Edwin Jagger and the Muhle razors both share the same base plate and top cap as it's equivalent.

I was just being pedantic lol but yes I agree with you. I’m surprised though that this is a DE89 equivalent head. I’m sure I have ordered this one before.

Supposedly the DE89 gives a very comfortable shave with mild aggression.

Yeah, the DE89 is definitely a a razor you can use everyday. It's mild enough not to irritate with daily use but with a good blade you can get a fantastic shave out of it. It's the same baseplate and top cap that comes with the King C Gillette too. I use both of the Muhle R89 and the King C Gillette with Gillette Silver Blue blades and I love it. I've got a Merkur Futur adjustable too which shaves at both ends of the spectrum.

But a double edge safety razor they said, it'll save you money they said. Yes the blades are cheaper than anything but once you go down the rabbit hole of soaps and creams it becomes more of a hobby than about saving money on cartridge blades.

100% I agree with you. With the right routine, you can and will save money. Plus you get an even better shave than with cartridge razor. Its a win win all round. I admit, it does become a hobby because it’s such great fun. It’s not a chore and quite therapeutic I find.

I have sensitive skin so I’ll find my sweet spot with the cream/soap and then stick to it. Finished off some Arko stick soap after a few years of use. Just grab some proraso soap that went on this site and lord almighty is it far better than the Arko and this rubbish soap I got from EJ. Foams up dead easy and far nice to use practically. No effort at all compared to the Sandel Wood soap I got from EJ.
