EE 40gb of data Sim only ultd both and 40gb for £19

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I'm half way through an EE contract and often using up my data. After seeing the virgin sim only offers I tried the online chat and managed to get 15gb added for an extra £3. My new contract is ultd both and 40gb for £19. I know there are cheaper ones out there but thought it may be of help for others wanting to add extra data to an existing contract.

It took me 4 attempts to get a service advisor willing to ask their supervisor if they could get close to the Current Virgin offers.

I upgraded my dads n nieces sims and EE were the same they kept saying a supervisor will do nothing and that they can guarantee me 100% a supervisor will say the same, I persisted and got a supervisor and got my niece 25gb £16 a month and while on he offered to do my dads ( on same account) my dad was only 4 months into a 12 month deal and started him a new one £10 10gb.
Awesome OP. You dodged a bullet with Virgin, my signal is patchy and can only get signal in certain places. Cant wait to leave!
is this 4GEE MAX contract?
I've had 40Gb/mth for a while with EE after my last contract was due for renewal. I just rang and told them I'd stay if they cut my monthly bill and gave me more data. I share the data with my teenager who has their own number on my contract. It works really well. EE's 4g speed typically gives me 38-40Mb download speeds and the coverage is flawless so far. Nope, I don't work for them
Deos it mean you have a new contract or you have upgraded without extending the length of your current contract. I'm in the same boat, my contract ends in April 2019 and I've noticed that I have 20% discount with my employer... thanks, OP.
No new contract, just extra data added.Thought it was pretty good considering my contract is due for renewal April 2019.
Great but ee for me has crap coverage, sat here in the middle of Keswick no service. At home I have to go upstairs to get a signal. Pathetic coverage

EE don't do sim only 4GEE contracts …EE don't do sim only 4GEE contracts anymore.https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Roaming/Are-there-any-4gee-Max-plans-that-are-sim-only/td-p/672570

I rather have 4gb EE max , than 40gb EE Essentials which is no better than 3G data contract and data stops working for me in crowded places with lots of EE max / BT contract customers . All the the headline making data in your account, but no data when you need it. You get full 4G signal but not full speed 4G data and no data if in a crowded situation.

Good luck to those who can get this deal. It's probably the way I speak or my tone that these guys don't budge.
i got offer of 40GB in 18£ yesterday on Chat

I'm on the "up to 60mbits/s" and I've never experienced what you are saying there - unless Essentials is less than that?

I always get between 30 and 60 most of the time and I travel round the country a lot.
I just got 40GB, unlimited both, for £18. My contract was up for renewal next month anyway. Cheers

It is not in the country , it is a problem, it is crowded areas like Central London, data comes to grinding halt .

Just be overly polite and use smiling emoji's 😁 . My interactions were all positive just had to get the right advisor. Luckily on this occasion they checked with their supervisor without me pressing. It's also worth copy/pasting the URL when mentioning Virgin's offer.

I've never had a problem with speed in any situations. I'll test the connection out in various locations as it would be nice to know if there is a noticeable difference between 4GEE and essential.

Yea I'm meaning I travel around the country (all the major cities including London) and I've never had that experience.

I can't say the same for O2 and Vodafone mind you...

I'm out of contract at the mo on a 30 day rolling. Wanted a 12 month sim only and My upgrade offer online was 10gb for £20. Rang upgrades who said then could do 20gb for £20. I pushed on the price and they said the 10gb for £18. I said I'd leave it and look elsewhere.
Rang for pa today and they offered either 10gb for £15 or 25gb for £16, which I took.

Been happy with EE speed/coverage over the years and didn't particulary want to try other networks so pleased enough with that.

I was on max and swapped to sim only earlier in the year not realising it's essential only and didn't notice a change. You can 'go faster' for £2 a month (on and off when you need), so if I'm going to be caning usage 1 month I might give it a go.
Just called up for my PAC code & was offered nothing compared to this. informed the customer services I was going for 3's 100GB £18.00 a month. She said crack on thats a fantastic deal.

Been with EE 4 years now and ive got 2 sim only contracts with them. Both are £16.00 a month for 16GB ultd calls/texts. They did try to offer me 25GB for the same price but thats availbe to everyone now...nothing special

Here's my speed test at home...

At the bottom of the page there is a let's chat part. From time to time there is nothing to click on to initiate but bare with it and keep checking.

Seems like you went in too harsh by asking for the PAC first?

This took me 4 attempts. I was offered £20, £25 and £26 so it depends on the individual. If you don't get a good deal just say "thank you for your time but I'll stick with my current deal". Better to keep them happy so they don't leave a spiteful note on the account.

You quote this in every post and hardly anyone agrees with you ever. Jeez give it a rest. So you allegedly have problems with EE, move to another provider then if it's that bad.

I already have O2 on another work phone so know the difference. Even EE agree they have two speeds , it just you who cannot see the writing on the wall . I can never endorse a EE essential plan deal .

Never go to canterbury if you want working signal then. No network works in canterbury city centre. Found that forcing my phone on 3G on EE makes it work...
Great result, I couldn’t get anywhere near this. Best I could get was £25 a month for 40gb
I wonder what do people use so much data for, unless they don't have a home broadband and use mobile data all the time.
"It took me 4 attempts to get a service advisor willing to ask their supervisor if they could get close to the Current Virgin offers."

So this seems like a useless, one-off deal, surely?
Would only offer me 40gb for £24 or 20gb for £21 told them I'd keep my current contract and look elsewhere for cheaper when it runs out, he said he'd leave a note on my account to see if any better offers come along so they could let me know.

well then tell them your off to virgin - goodbye
I don't see how EE can be competing with 3 who is offering 100GB data for £20pcm up front. And being difficult for retaining customers, making improving contracts such difficult situations. They must be bleeding new customers to other mobile operators. They really need to up their game to compete with the market.

It's £2 a month to upgrade to the faster speeds. No biggie surely? I was on max for 4 years and moved on to sim only beginning of the year not realising it was essentials. Didn't notice a significant difference and only found out 2 weeks ago had downgraded.
People want the fastest speed but how many people actually need it?
How do you 'go faster' on EE? I'm fed up with poor speeds in and around Glasgow and just about to jump on the Vodafone 20gb deal to see if it's any better

Watching videos in 1440p on YouTube rather than 720p, streaming movies, tv shows, uploading photo and video content to cloud storage, sharing videos and pictures via apps, viewing cctv footage on the go, watching sports in 4k quality, downloading content, streaming live.. etc etc.. this all eats in your data allowance specially if you view content in its highest quality. And with EE you can share the data if the other sims are on the same account.

Just how bad is it? I'm looking to move from Three to EE in Glasgow, as you have to disable 4G on Three between 3pm-7pm in Glasgow City Centre as there is no data throughput at all - there's a magic line at Central Station (when you cross the River Clyde) where it starts/stops working. 3G works, but in spurts - enough to get the 'how late is your train' Scotrail page, but not for anything more complex ;-(

My boss was on Vodafone and moved to EE and says data speed were worse on Vodafone, but he commutes from the opposite end of Glasgow to me...
