Decent spare / back up / kids phone. Thanks for posting @irsjar
The storage runs out pretty fast on this, leaving it unusable. Even adding an SD card does not help.
I imagine there isn't much onboard storage after the OS is taken into account.
My experience of using a SD on a smartphone is dire.
I'd personally give this phone a wide berth even as a spare, but someone who owns one may chip in......
Have to say deany feel much the same about Sd cards on android phones
even rooted one

Do own one of these have to say fairly dire
I bought one of these about a year ago for £15 (+£10 top up) when my Huawei P9 needed to be repaired.
Unless you only need to use it for a day, I would steer clear. I had it for a few weeks and couldn't my basic essential apps onto it due to storage running out (even with an SD card) very laggy, trying to start the maps app is painfully slow and then having to wait to enter the address etc.
You are better off saving your cash and spending at least £60 on a Chinese phone with at least 2gb Ram.

Where did you buy this for £15(+£10 top up). This 5" phone has never been below this current price.
I think you may talking about 4" phone with 512 MB RAM & 4 GB storage.

Apologies OP, it may have been the 4“, I think it was O2 whom did have it on offer at the time.
Yes you can get them unlocked for £1, which I did, but it was crap.

Alcatel are the skoda of the phone world. The main problems already highlighted 8gb storage and 1gb ram don't cut it on modern apps. I am writing this on my similarly specced Sony Xperia T3 and it is painfully lags and my m4 aqua which I have to raindance Maggie as the chili song goes with the previous spare space. Good price... Bad phone cold from me. Get something Chinese for 60

They're more like the Aixam of the phone world.

You've obviously not been near a Skoda in the last decade !

Newsflash, Skoda are actually pretty good cars now-a-days so your comparison isn't very good.

However I would agree that these phones ain't very good. The main problem I had was that mine kept downloading absolute rubbish of it's own accord and they throttled the phone to the point it became un-usable. It was a daily exercise to try to find and delete the rubbish apps it downloaded and installed without permission. So my advice is to stay clear of Alcatel phones.

obviously none us has a time machine
the 4" was 10 pounds and is even worse than this
trying to download some apps and getting ‘your device cannot support this app’
the commentary under the app says it will support android 4.1 upwards,
this being android 6, it should be ok.
tried a few google suggestions with no luck,
hoping someone who owns this phone is able to comment on what I can change it the settings
thanks
