EE Call Abroad - Save up to 95% on International Calls

EE charge an extortionate £1/min to pretty much all international numbers, or 50p a text.

Text CALL ABROAD to 441 for a free add on that heavily reduces call costs to 5p/min upwards.

If you're on PAYG, its even cheaper, but text CALL ABROAD to 150.

T-Mobile - INT to 879 (Monthly), INT to 879 PAYG
Orange - No such luck?

Would be nice if they just gave the cheaper rates in the first place....

It's ridiculous that you have to "opt in" for this.

costs nothing to opt in

do all the networks offer this?

Can't get signal outside my house! Hate EE

Why not download viber....it is always free to other viber users

Great cheers

Call my family in Portugal using localphone and find it very good.
They have wifi and 3g calls but I only use local calls, means that It uses my minutes + my credit with them but call quality it's excellent and as we have a lot of minutes this days doesn't really matter. £5 lasts a long time.

Anyway thanks for the heads up, I will add this.

should this say "from mobiles"or is this charge for ee landlines?

I hate EE. Such a rip off

text to T mobile 879 always fails, why do they advertise this number knowing that it doesnt work???

Pretending they are making an effort I assume

What amazes me most is that they had those prices when EU enforces cheaper prices (at least to EU countries).
They've got slightly over a year to "enjoy" rip off fares until roaming disappears inside the EU. Though, by that time, the UK might've already left it.

Good find. No reply from texting to 441, after 15 minutes. :-\

Edit:but just checked my account, and it's listed as an add-on 'currently in use'. :-)

Edit2: Finally received confirmation sms after 22 minutes.

What a rip, wasted so much money in the past, Thanks OP just added the add on.

Wow, don't know the prices but texted to 441 and within 5 mins can see the £0.00 Calling abroad add-on in my Add-ons list already. Thanks!

This should be scorching hot - sad that they do it, but vote hot so that this gets in the daily email & slaughter their cash cow!

just use hangouts dialer, even cheaper than this

Is that landlines as well as mobiles?
In this tech savvy world makes sense to have viber!

Is there a list of countries the offer applies to?

Thx for posting this, they may be cheaper alternative services available but you never know in an emergency and if you are with EE you may had as well enable it free.

Get the Vodafone

Cheapest I find, especially calling to India, is LocalPhone.com
If you have a package with unlimited minutes, you can basically set up a local 01/02 number to call whatever international number you wish to call, and the charge is like 0.7p per minute.

Otherwise, lyca does 1p/min calls but they've got **** network coverage in my area..

Is there a link that specifies how much it costs to call each country after this has been enabled?

Thanks OP - Very handy!

Here's a list of prices after this is enabled:-

ee.co.uk/hel…-uk

Switching soon to EE, so thanks!

Mind you, I just use a VoIP phone to call anywhere in the world - or Google Voice from the mobile.

Oh and EE can't be that bad. Vodafone is dire for data and call quality so I would never recommend them.

Actually there is probably not a decent provider - every network has it's own vocal objectors.

Try clicking on "Get Deal" above.

What about Orange, now part of EE?

i miss tmobile which used to be best network signals wise, deals and CS and loyalty discounts...Since EE merger its the worst of all..Maybe by time they might improve..

I doubt a truer word has ever been said

high time they started this offering.

my home country is not even in the list :')

One of the best options but call quality not always crystal and requires other person to have app and data signal

Skype
facetime
viber

apart is there any better quality or less congested app with easy interface.

Am on Tmobile. Keep on getting undelivered when try to send message at 879

EE are playing catch up with Three who for some time have been offering a long list of very cheap calling destinations via a 3-digit short code put in front of the international number, e.g. 424 for USA.

support.three.co.uk/SRV…%29

Granted the EE country list is longer and some rates are keener. Competition is good!

Great thanks .... Usually i use lyca for international calls but this is also good to have...

Cold for me. I'm on Giffgaff and there's no opt in, just cheap rate international calls. I haven't checked all the destinations but when it's 3p/8p landline/mobiles versus twice over twice that on EE to RSA, I'm glad I ditched T mobile earlier this year.

Can you use this abroad.
