I've have over 1 month left on my 12 month sim only plan (existing EE Customer).
Phoned EE and said I was not renewing contract, saying that BT had a better deal (2gb data, UL mins/texts for £10 per month).

They matched it on their 2GB EE Extra plan - which has several extras such as 100mb/EU roaming and calls to EU *certain countries*.

From other posts, it would appear that EE are matching these prices, even though EE and BT have merged.

Pleased that OP was able to play EE off with BT but I wonder if these events will change soon as BT owns EE now. Weak regulator Offcom, allowed BT/EE to amalgamate saying that they didn't feel it would reduce competition. Considering BT now have control with what they want to do with Virgin Mobile, Life and Vectone all virtual Mobile operators using EE time will tell! My Virgin Contract has gone from £9 to £18 a month within 3 months, Virgin siting increases and phase out of any discounts they were once able to give.
That's a absolutely CRAP deal!
I got the 2gb EE plan a couple of months back for £7.99 for my son, retention deal
just been local shopping center EE shop offering unlimited calls and txt +10gb data for £14.99

Makes me laugh "crap deal" brigade. I don't see how this is in anyway crap other than it being a retention deal & not off the shelf. However my 2 years is up in July & CBA to get excited about any of the current handsets so think will go for simo & save money hoping for under £10 a month
Got this for my mother a couple of weeks ago hers includes an extra 3gb free data per month. I rang and checked if it was a special offer for just the one month and they said no she gets it for the full 12 months £9.99 unlimited mins and texts plus 5gb data. Not a bad deal
Well i just got off the phone with EE and i said i wanted PAC code and they offered me 2gb data and unlimited texts n calls for £12.99 which is pretty pants , guess i will have to wait for a call from there follow up retention team ?
I was in the last month of my SIM only deal. They offered me (5GB) 2GB plus an extra 3 GB for free for £9.99 per month. I took it. Seems like a good deal. Especially since you get wifi calling, tethering and visual voicemail plus their double speed 4G is quick.

Ring up again and quote the offer from BT - they matched there and then on the phone when I called and said I was thinking of leaving.

Was offered the same when requesting PAC. Got my other daughter the £1.00 LIFE (EE) deal with 1gb but was offered the £7.99 2GB Retention Deal for her a few weeks ago. Will try EE again on expiry date for contract oO
I called them today to hand in my 30 day notice - quoted the ID Mobile Deal (500 Mins, 1500 Texts, 4gb data for £10).
They offered me this deal and I asked to just get my PAC code.

I'll see what they have to say if Retentions team follow up, hopefully its soon or I'm jumping ship.
