You have a point, but please note that you've got your decimal places confused.

It should either be 62.5p per GB or £0.625 per GB & similar - so the others would read: £0.33 / 33p & £0.45 / 45p per GB.

The way you've written it, means it's 0.625 of 1p, 0.33 of 1p & 0.45 of 1p per GB.

All available data plans include: (after discount

- 4 GB for £8.50 per month
- 15 GB for £10.50 per month
- 20 GB for £12.50 per month
- 30 GB for £15 per month

I'm not too sure but I would wait till after December just incase it's affected by the price hike.

Folks need to look at the cost per GB.

These are very easy to unlock with a code from eBay (I have done 2 of them). Cancel contract after first month and then you can use any network contract or pay-as-you-go data sim if that works for you (everyone has different needs)

For what its worth I use Giffgaff pay as you go - I pay more per mb but they dont steal my unused credit. I dont use it very often so that setup works for me. If you use it a lot you will be better with a contract sim only with one of the networks.

Don't you have to buy the Data plan at the point of purchase of the device>?

I'm being slow here (not for the first time). Can someone point me at the half-price mobile data offers?

You would have to sign up for a contract when purchasing but its a 1 month rolling contract - so you can cancel it straight away by calling EE (not in store).... bear in mind you need to give 30 days notice so dont delay or you could run into a 2nd month of charges.

Not clear if you have to go for the 20GB option but if not then sign up for the 4GB @ £8.50 (Unless you plan on using more data of course).

I just went to nearest currys and got this deal. However I was told that hlaf price offer is only on 20 GB one, all others are full price
So 20GB @12.50 ( Rolling )

Hi, have you got a link to these data plans please?

Ok any advice appreciated!! I have reserved one for collection without any plan attached. When I collect will they make me sign up to something? I already have home broadband, this is for weekends away with my girls, so will only need occasionally. Whats the best way to do things for my situation? tia

Pal of mine just went and got one, only the 20GB offer is at half price @£12.50/month, 30GB still costs £30/month
@holdol ..... if you can buy the device alone for £4.99 then fine, but considering you can get 20GB for £12.50/month then I would advise you opt for that, if it turns out you don't really need that much data for the occasional weekend away then you can just cancel anytime and keep the device

Why would you pay £40 for 24GB (Amazon/three) when you can get 20GB for £12.50 with this offer?

£40 is a one off payment and the data stays with the sim for 24 months if it is not used up. The £12.50 offer is a pay monthly deal (on a 30 day running contract), data is taken away if you don't pay £12.50 every month.

From what has been advised to others on this thread, you won't be made to sign-up for anything if you only go for the device. So get it unlocked via code from eBay for no more than 99p & also get this Three 24Gb data PAYG SIM from Amazon, which you can use over 24 months before it expires: amazon.co.uk/Thr…B2/

EDIT: sorry, they will make you sign up for the initial month at the very least, so what I said before is wrong.

Using my mates brand new osprey mini 3 this evening, with 20GB / month for £12.50, the device has locked up twice, once while power connected, once while fully charged but not connected to power, had to reboot device each time, both times happened while YouTube streaming so device was fully in use.
Anyone else had any similar problems with this osprey mini 3? I have used the previous version osprey mini 2 for years with no problems.

Can I connect to this with my laptop for 20GB of internet data? Seems good value at £17.50 for the first month then £12.50 thereafter for a 30 day contract!

Got one today, there were supposedly 10 left in the Bradford forster Sq branch, made me sign up to the monthly thing so got the £12.50 for 20gb. Was also told that it's 1 full month cancellation so whatever the remainder of the month ur on and a whole month after that.
Has anybody cancelled and if so how did it work? Did they ask why etc

I have the older version of this device, and its been collecting dust for the best part of a year or so. If I need to tether then I use my phone/sim plan .

Do people use these as a replacement for home broadband so can leave at home all day and let others use the wifi?

Yes you can connect via your laptop. The 20GB plan is pretty good value cost for data considering it is a month-by-month plan, and you get the box for a fiver which is excellent value as these are still on at Argos for 50 quid

Those who are looking to buy this, word of caution.
I got this yesterday with 20GB plan @ 12.50
Activated yesterday
Today EE sends me first bill at full price of £ 25
I called up EE to explain that I have been sold half price deal. They said they can't see
anything like that on your system so they can't do anything. They advised me to go back to currys pcw store.
I called up currys after sales line , all they could do was take my phone number saying store will call me soon
to sort this out.
I doubt store will be able to do anything if EE is not going to honor half price plan. I will go to store tomorrow and see if they can do anything. If not will call EE to cancel within 14 days cooling off. Real waste of time.
