EE Alcatel 10.16 Mobile Phone... argos.co.uk/bet…htm

Edited by: "Super18" 11th Feb 2016
Pay now collect in store and you won't be charged for the £10 top-up.
I've bought it yesterday and have paid £4.99 using the fast track.
I have a Vodafone sim. Can this be out straight in. Is this phone locked to EE?

Yes it will be, but I've posted another deal where you will get a £5 ee credit for £0.99 so if you buy 2 sim cards you'll get £10 in total credit which can be used to unlocked the handset.
For the same price, Alcatel way better with a torchlight and FM Radio/MP3 Player.
Nokia is Nokia, basic price, basis options.
Has been highlighted on here in other previous postings for mobile phones from Argos if you choose to use the 'Fast Track' option for collection from store you only pay £4.99 Tested and works!

"The Nokia 130 is ready for anything, with long battery life, a back cover that keeps it's colour if scratched and a bright flashlight. "

The Alcatel also looks pretty awful.
Nokia all the way for me.

What a phone that makes calls - A thing of the future !
Soon we will have to have a smart phone for internet facebook etc and a different actual mobile phone to ring on
because smart phone makers are kind of forgetting the phone part !

Speaking of paying attention...

This Nokia phone has a flashlight AND an FM radio.

So the only thing the Alcatel has over this is an MP3 player & an ugly design...

In other words, the Alcatel is STILL functionality superior than the Finnish sellout
perfect for mothers / fathers! And then I still expect to have to provide Tech Support!

That's what I've moved to.
I'm fed up with Apps granting themselves upgrades so they can snoop at more and more of my smartphone, so am now using a basic phone for private calls and texts and my smartphone is data only, without contacts.

Me too - because 'smartphones' are rubbish at calls and texts.
Ok just to confirm i purchased this online via fast track, paid £4.99 online, and collected the phone instore at the fast track counter. Didnt get asked anywhere to top up £10, even though it says on the website that £10 top up is required. I think if I was to pay for it instore, they wouldve asked me to buy £10 top up.

Also, the phone is locked to EE. I wanted to use my giffgaff sim in it (which is on the o2 network) . Anyone know where I can get it unlocked from?

I use these cheap phones to leave in the glovebox should I break down and have forgotten my phone. The trouble is remembering to make a call every 6 months to avoid termination.
put an apple badge on it an the fanboys would find a good reason it was worth ever Penny of £499.99.

You need to buy it using the FastTrack service. That way, it is all bought and paid for...and no top up will be due.
If you just do a standard reserve and collect, you'll be paying an extra tenner.

Get a SIM card from the deal here for 99p.

Activate it by texting "Stop pack" to 150, then reply "YES" to the text they will send you asking to confirm.
Either make sure you turned off data before inserting the new SIM or, to be safer, use an old-style non-smart phone (this Nokia will do), to ensure the pack does not start taking data before it's cancelled!

You will now have £5 credit on the SIM.

Now phone EE to ask to have the phone unlocked, have the IMEI number to hand. They'll ask if you have sufficient credit (£8.99) on the phone, which you won't of course, and will allow you to top up the difference of £4 by credit/debit card.

Be warned it takes forever before receiving the unlocking code by email. They say up to 10 days but mine took over 2 weeks!
