This is a retention deal, requested a PAC code yesterday, offered this deal this morning.
Very good deal!
Excellent price... One question? I'm not with EE, so how do you suppose I get this deal?! Lol only jesting. Voted hot!

I wonder though honestly if there is any prospect of non-customers getting this deal.

My contract is about to expire, and I was going to keep my S7 edge and get a sim only for a tenner with about 8GB like this. However, selling my S7 edge and getting this deal would basically mean I could upgrade to the S8 for only a fiver or so outlay a month which is seriously tempting...

I don't think there is any chance in the world you would get this deal. Have you tried ringing them or live chat to see if they can offer you an exclusive deal?

I've got 4 contacts with ee and 2 have come to an end.
Requested my package code and got nothing.
No attempt to reduce my prices or anything.
I was thinking of going to sim only but even then, their best deal was about £15 a month for 4 GB (not 100% sure but virgin and other companies are doing so much better.

I was offered a royalty discount for the deal. Usual price is £33 per month ( according to the EE sales team). Can try with their online team for this. Good luck!

A million times better
I got the same deal but when the s8 come out for £32
I wouldn't pay £28 a month for it when the price is going to drop like mad when the s9 comes out.
You'd probably be better buying the phone and paying monthly
My wife got this deal just after black Friday but with 10GB.
i found similar bad retention offerings from 3. Had 3 contracts (the irony) and the deals they were offering were only a 10% discount for retention. so I went to EE with the missus and she now has S8 with 1gb and ulmtd for £26.39 a month ( I get 20% off them) but the phone was a customer return (although the box was minty fresh and all the accessories still sealed etc etc. bargain

I am not sure the price will drop too rapidly - I rather think that the s9 will be at a higher price point than the s8 was on launch. The s7 was only discounted to hide the horror show that was the edge 7! IMO.

I think there's every reason to believe there will be some good S8 deals on or around S9 launch. See this link for a deal on S7 in March last year:

hotukdeals.com/dea…618

Appreciate S8 was pricier at launch but I think there's every chance of a contract with 2GB or more of data coming in at sub-£600 over 24 months. I'm holding out.

Heat for this retention deal though.

much better to call them as last time the online chat adviser was a dick and removed all my discounts (loyalty + additional discount), but when the bill was generated I simply called them and discount were added back by customer service operator.
£28 ? No chance, offers will be exceptional in comparison next month.

I'm not sure if I had found an exact deal, but I was looking at Virgin who offer something around that for £10-11 I think on a 12 month contract.
Just called to them..... 🙄 did say about this however they could do it! I am guessing depending with who do you talk to.... Shame!!
good deal my contract just ended with ee and they offered me this deal but i was happy with my s7 so i managed to get a 12 month sim only deal for £9 a month 8gb of data unlimited calls texts
I posted a thread on this a couple of years ago.

Assuming nothing has changed then EE have two types of retentions:

1) Retentions - they offer crap deals

2) Refuse to Lose - they call back, once, a few days after PAC requested - they offer the great deals

So I would presume the OP was called by refuse to lose??

Out of interest why cancel your contracts

I pay 16.99a month which gets me 7 gig of data; BT SPORTS and 6 months applr music.
However I claimed 150 cashback so it worked out just under £5 a month.

I would like to stay on the tariff but not at £17 per month.
Anyone else had any luck on gettin this deal ?
I tried hard even asked for PAC code but no luck

me too - couldn't get it by chat or phone. ended up using PAC and getting the 4gb o2 deal (26/month 115 upfront) from mobiles.co.uk ... they would have retained my custom if they had offered this.
