Just been on the online chat to EE. Appreciate that the data limit is very low, but for low users (this is for my Mum) this seems a good deal. I quoted the ID Mobile £3.99 offer for them to take it down to this price.

Unlimited calls
Unlimited texts
500mb data
£4PM - 12 month contract

Useful if you make plenty of calls and txt's but that data allowance is just too low for most...
Mum was only using 300mb a month so this will do her fine. Will be good for those like her
I got 1gb for £5/m
Thats a good deal. Obviously data is low but thats what wifi is for

As a pensioner counting the pennies she'd rather save £1 a month than pay for data she doesn't need.
Very good deal if someone uses it just for call,
We have just got 4gb for £9 & 2gb for £7. Quoted Plusnet & Tesco mobile deals to get those prices. You need to know what other providers are offering before you call retentions.

Decent deal if it suits your needs; heat added!

Yes, but combined, your prices are double what the OP posted! I get 16GB, unlimited everything and Spotify for £10.50/month and I am sure that can be improved upon........it's not a competition

I checked exactly what other providers were offering first. The deal I've posted suits my Mum's needs (she only uses 200-300mb a month). Why would she pay more for data she doesn't need? Just because you need more data doesn't make this a bad deal for those it suits.

Thank you for the common sense
Not everyone needs several gigabytes of data every month. Please bear that in mind when voting. This is clearly a deal aimed at low users, as stated in my original post.

I hope your Mum has a 'massive' screen too; if not, you'll be fiercely berated
wanted this for my wife as a new customer called them up and they said NO

Shame...the ID Mobile deal is good, but depends if she wants to go with them or not. My Mum couldn't be fussed leaving EE if she could get a similar price with them otherwise she would've gone with ID.

I know nothing wrong with trying

Had good response from previous experience

Absolutely, I agree wholeheartedly; I was just pointing out the reason you may have been unsuccessful on this occasion. It often just depends on whom you are speaking with; nothing is set in stone, no matter what we are told to believe

Indeed...even with this one, i tried a month ago and they weren't budging on price at all then. Gotta keep trying.
Can't watch many unsavoury videos with a mere 500mb
Ignore the negative comments intended to make you bite gemmabe
Excellent deal for the MANY people who have no interest in the internet like my own mom who has never used the internet & even when offered it for free said she had no use for it.
Heat! 500MB is perfect for email only or a little compressed Opera browser use for bus/train/banking is more thanenough for older folks who have as much interest in internet as they do paying BT £18 a month after getting this deal.
My 3 kids have this as well and the rest of the data is gifted via the app as I get 45gb a month I dont use. So 4 lines 32£ with is good enough for our family .

and I suspect the OP's mother doesn't do that sort of thing.

Please GOD, don't put images like that in my head
Good deal for parents
Thanks op. I got this deal plus they gave me an additional 10GB for having EE home broadband all for £4pm- bargain!

I've been with EE for donkeys years (since Orange), but they seem to be a bit like the new "vodafone", in such that they have too many customers to really need to offer anything on retentions.

I was offered 4GB for £8 or 6GB for £10. As a comparison, these are "new customer" deals elsewhere:
(all contracts are now pretty much 'unlimited' calls/texts, so little to compare there)

Virgin - 5GB with rollover data (uSwitch) £9 pcm
24GB with rollover data for £15pcm (with £31 TCB) = £12.42pcm

Three - 12GB for £15pcm (with £55 TCB) = £10.42 pcm
4GB for £10pcm (with £40 TCB) = £6.67 pcm

It's all very well EE saying that they have the best signal and best speeds, but I only get 2 bars at home and none of the deals they offered would be with their 'superior speed' (which I understand is only available on their 'max' plans)

YES...
Not everybody NEEDS Data, as not everybody has/needs the internet, so from a minutes/text point of view alone, it's a great deal. I'm on £3.99pm (TPO) with half the minutes, (some data) but it's good enough for me
Hi Gemma, I’m new to all this! How do I get the ID number to get this deal please?
