Update 1
Update- cashback increased from £170 to £190 - 30/06
This is a cracking deal for a 5G sim only if you are looking to go with EE.

12 months sim only contract
5G SMART plan (including 1 swappable benefit (e.g. roam further, video data pass, bt sport ultimate, amazon prime video, brit box)
60 gig data allowance
Unlimited data speeds (Depending on coverage and location)

This is usually £27 (even from EE)
It comes with £170 cashback which you redeem in stages though your contract. I belive with affordable mobiles it usually means sending bills in by post, but at the moment they are allowing them to be sent by email. Your cashback is paid into your bank account with 30days of redemption)

Quidco are also giving £25 cashback through affordable mobiles for this deal.

All in all with discounts it comes to £10.75 a month.

An absolute bargain for an EE smart plan.
(yes i know other networks offer more data at cheaper prices through various websites, but this is a cracking deal on EE)

(Other benefits with new EE contracts are:

3 months free BT Sport trial on phone
6 months free Britbox subscription
6 months free MTV mobile subscription
6 months free apple music subscription
6 months free Apple news subscription)

Hope this helps someone.

Just to note you can get the 100gb one for £3 more a month through this website (same cashback allowance mind)
I just got 100GB 5G on a Smart SIM for £23 a month from EE retentions but had to call them multiple times to get it sorted as they put me.on a new 4G contract initially.

Great deal even for 4G! Heat! Heat! Heat!
Fantastic deal on EE. Well worth the extra little money for 5g in more places and speed of their network. Excellent heat added
Would that work for existing customers (not on contract), or do I have to port my number to some Lebara for example? Sorry, it's not obvious after reading their Legal Bits.

TA.

Have to port number out and back in. This is what I’m doing. It is a new plan and not an upgrade.
VerEE good deal!

I have the same router but on 3. Their 5G network is extremely unstable and breaks a lot. Most of the time, I’ll need to reboot the router to get back online(mad)

Retention deal for me is £4 pm unlimited mins / text / 1GB data (plus 5GB for using a mates bonus for having broadband). 12m contract.

If you already have an ee contract, would the cashback work? It says its for ' new customer contract purchases'. Would this be a new customer for affordable mobiles, or a new customer to ee?

Don't say anything and just put your own mobile number in when signing up to broadband. Or get your Grandad to call and give your number without saying it is not his. He can have more than one mobile number
Can you get an eSIM on this deal for a S20+?
Wish they would give out Disney plus

What is the difference between EE’s Max plan vs Smart plan ?

What is the difference between EE’s Max plan vs Smart plan ?

The Smart plan replaced the Max plan in 2019. These are EE's flagship plans with fastest speeds you can depending where you are in the UK. The Max plan had the benefit of additional countries (USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico) you can roam using your inclusive allowance for calls, text and date usage (think a fair usage policy / restriction was in place) It also gave BT Sport for the duration of the contract. The Smart plan is almost the same but you don't get as standard the additional countries to roam. Instead they come with a selection of Swappables you can choose from like BT Sport, Roam further (those countries that were included in the the Max Plan) Amazon prime video. Most tariffs have 1 Swappable but are all 5g and have a data reserve meaning if you go above your allowance you still have data at a restricted speed of 2 mbps.

Is that to get the cashback or does EE not let you move your number from one of their sims to another? My EE sim only expires this month, I’ve been getting a 250MB data plan and adding 10GB through the broadband deal as I rarely exceed 4GB.

Does anyone know if all EE plans now have 5G enabled? The features on the page mention 5G but the sim says 4GEE

Only the Smart SIMs are 5g enabled as far as I know in the Sim Only range. The essentials or Sim plan as they are called now are 4g at the moment. They may well change this in the coming months as 5g coverage grows. Still early days with 5g with coverage and handsets starting to become more available that are 5g ready.

Retentions is different from what you can get online. It seems that they screwed up on quoting £23 for 100GB but as the phone calls are recorded I asked them to play it back and they honoured it. Eventually.

I only use about 30GB with WiFi turned off so it won't actually cost them though.

As I understand it it should have been £33 for 60GB and then a £4 loyalty discount would be the offer from retentions so £29 for 60GB.

No provider normally lets you transfer to their own Sims on a deal meant for new customers. You can buy a throw away PAYG SIM from Amazon, port your number to another provider and then port it back again. And no not all plans have 5G enabled at the moment at least.

Excellent comparison, thank you

The reason I am asking that I currently have the EE Max plan with 30GB which is more than enough for my usage, I pay about £25 pm with £21 loyalty discount and BT Sports. (I have been out of contract for a while)

Would I get a cheaper deal through retention? Or do I keep my current Max plan?
Would my Loyalty discount still apply to the new deal or do I lose them?
Can I get 2 swappables with the Smart Plan instead of the usual one (like BT Sports & Roam Further)

I had big issues several years ago (with fellow A1comms brand BuyMobilePhones.net) & found at least one feedback on trustpilot from early this year pre-coronavirus with exactly the same issues (problems with banks/BACS causing weeks & months of delay).

That is only due to Coronavirus - no guarantee they won't go back to postal claims.
