EE SIMO RETENTION - 10GB DATA/UNLIMITED MINS/TXT for £8 / 12mths

Found 11th May
I called EE for a better deal on my soon ending SIMO 12 months plan but had no luck. Tried webchat today and spoke to this guy in a nicest and friendliest manner possible, bang on 8am start time. Explained him that I am not happy paying 12.99 for 5 GB data, being a long tierm customer and same time had seen some better deals around. He came up with this deal which to me atleast is brilliant;

10GB DATA/UNLTD MINS/TXT
20 POUNDS/MONTH - 12 POUNDS LOYALTY DISCOUNT = 8 POUNDS/MONTH

Icing on the cake is it's a change of plan before the expiry of existing one, which means I can cancel and upgrade the contract whenever I want

P.S. : BE NICE/REALISTIC TO THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT THE BEST DEAL!!!

Absolutely no need to plead with them for a better deal, they get paid based on performance and customer retention.....use that to your advantage, you being the customer has no requirements whatsoever to “be nice” to a business for them to keep your custom.

True, but in my experience and from what I've heard from many others is EE are renowned for being very tight with their retention deals and it always seems to be the lucky few who manage to get a good retention deal. More often than not EE seem happy to let long term customers go.

Completely agree. Absolutely crap retentions deal.
I called them yesterday and got only 25 gigs for £16 when negotiating 3 contracts... Atrocious.
Agreed. Spoke to EE on chat yesterday and they couldn't offer me anything. I'm sim only and out of contract
EE also claimed you can't speak to retentions on chat
EE couldn’t even match virgin £9 deal for me yesterday gave me both my PAC codes
I've tried messing around on their page, and see no option for an online chat. Mind you i have 2 contracts with them and it won't let me sign in either, says my account is closed. I can sign into the app no problem, and certain parts of their website lets me log in, strange?!

I didn't asked for the retention advisor, just logged in to normal chat window you get once you hover on Help page and had the conversation with the chat agent
I like join EE but they so expensive..is there any way to get £5 a month offer from them as new costumer ? I just need 2gb data

I didn't even had to plead, just been realistic to the deals what I have seen and asked what would EE do to keep my custom. These is no harm/shame in talking nice with someone who is on the other side I guess.

I got unlimited calls and text with 1gb data for £5 the other day. I had a pay as you go sim and told them I am looking around to move to pay monthly and I was offered this retention deal. I think next deal is £8 month for 4gb data with unlimited calls and text. Until you call them you'll never know what deal they'll offer you, but make sure you have a working pay as you go sim before you call them.
Finally got through to them, and I couldn't of been nicer. Offered me heehaw. You are one lucky person op
I tried being nice no luck went to virgin didn't seemed bothered for price said he couldn't offer so bye bye EE
Good....if u can get it!

I personally know someone who works in the EE sales & retention’s dept, they get paid little over NMW as a basic salary then commission on retaining customers and new contracts......you’re metres broke!
EE refuse to give me retentions on webchat, and on the phone they are reluctant to offer me anything decent. Time to leave maybe.

I called this morning to get something similar as I'm due an upgrade.

The closest I got was 10gb unlimited txts/mins for £11 and that was with quoting different deals from providers + job discount on top.

Getting it down to 8 seems a real stretch
I've always had to ask for my PAC and ask to cancel my contract, sometimes before they issue the PAC they transfer to retentions, another time they wouldn't put me through to retentions so I carried on with PAC request and a day later I got called by retentions with a decent offer. If you're out of contract you've got little to lose by asking to leave and request your PAC. You have 30 days to use it, if you don't port out then you carry on with EE so nothing lost, during that 30 days it's very likely you'll get a retentions offer.

Just have a reason why you want to leave and a price you want to pay, such as a £8 Plusnet deal or whatever 3 are offering.

Sim is on 12 month contract

I think you should get a deal and transfer, you are not sure what offers they have. If you are with EE already you'll have to port your number out to another network and than port in to the new contract

I tried the same. The guy even said that he doesn't think anyone will phone me back in a week or two with a better offer, so I might as well just sign up with Virgin straight away rather than waiting for a phone call from EE retentions.

Urmm sure, why not?.... they admitted that I was the most manly and toughest customer they'd ever had to deal with, they also sent me some roses and chocolates, delivered by their CEO. I was mildly impressed.

I was asking about this on Live chat and got this reply:

Stephen
at 18:37, May 11:I can promise you it would not have been an upgrade, as then he would be in contract with us for 12 months.

What is sounds like is that he would have been on a special offer sim deal, like £31.99 for 20GB with a £12 loyalty discount, so £19.99 for 20GB, which is a deal with did last year, and when his contract has finished, someone has offered to change his talk plan to the £20 for 10GB price plan, leaving his £12 discount on, so £8, this is not something they should have done, as it causes problems like this, as I cannot match that deal, as it was not an upgrade, it was someone changing a price plan instead of upgrading the customer.

I am sorry, there is no way I can upgrade your plan to 10GB at £8, it is not an upgrade we can offer.

its ashame!
Managed to get 60gb for £13.50 on a max 1 month rolling plan by talking to them nicely.

Just called them up and have been told that they work on a live system which can change at any point between 12 hours to a month - as one offer ends, another is added. You got to be really lucky to find a deal close to this.
