EE Unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 25GB data, £16PM (retention deal)

I called EE about my sim cards.
I was offered 25 GB data, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts for £16 on a 12 month SIM only contract.
This is not a Max contract, that comes only with certain phone deals.

I know, there was an another deal here, but people said, it expired.
The agent said, a lot of their retention deals are not available anymore.

I’m confused, is it £16 or £25/mo?
So is it £25 or £16?
It's £16 a month.
Funny!
Good price. I'll phone tomorrow.
Go with Three. £18 for 30gb, unlmtd calls and texts and Feel at home included

Lucky you EE is awful for me, with all networks where I live (hardly in the sticks). I had Three awful coverage had to use a home signal box now with EE. (2 years best of a bad bunch). I have this deal retention with EE kinda pointless as I can't use the data. The WiFi has to be on and WiFi calling to make or receive poor quality calls

why do people post these retention deals.

you call em up and they just deny all knowledge. I just did... nah m8 dunno what you're talking 'bout (yeah sounded like that)
Just tell them Virgin media are doing 24gb for 15, which they are, and they’ll offer you it. No problem. Easy. Some people will give you max, some will deny it’s possible. I’ve got a request in to listen to the call I had with one person who said max but when I called back later they said it wasn’t max, so I’m waiting up to 72 hours for a manager to listen to the call. Anyhow it’s easy, be assertive and patient, mention the deal I said and it’s yours. They want to offer you it, just tell them what to offer you.

Does this include EU/overseas data? What’s the difference to a MAX plan? My current one is MAX

Max includes some non-EU roaming (EDIT both have EU) & has unlimited speeds - for me anything above about 15Mbps is hardly noticeable when browsing & I can wait 10 seconds instead of 3.7 for a PDF to download. I think Max also comes with BT sport app for 12 months.

This is NOT Max, that is only available with certain phone contracts. EE stopped doing Max for SIM only contracts.

Gahhhh you don’t need a link as they don’t ask for a link when talking to retentions.

Anyway if you search google for virgin media sim only it’s the first option, they ad they have paid for, it’s there in the text, here’s a link anyway and you can even mention how much better Virgin are citing the 100gb deal.

Bare in mind there is also the sim only thread here on HUKD too.

I did exactly that today, and got 25gb free with unlimited everything for £16 per month!
Called EE earlier today and managed to get this deal by quoting Virgin Mobile’s 24GB for £15 plan (I was previously on £20 for 20GB of data, so happy to pay less for more data ).

I also asked for the Go Faster add-on (to get up to 90Mbps speeds rather than 60Mbps), which is £2 per month. Will give it a try to see if it’s worth it, if not I’ll remove it next month and just pay £16. I wanted a SIM-only Max plan, but since those are no longer available, this was next best thing.

PS: I know some people dislike retention deals, but I find them helpful to set a target and know when you’re being offered a good deal. Thanks, OP!
