I rang EE earlier this afternoon to cancel my sim only contract. I told them I'm looking for samsung Note 8 and getting better deals through buymobiles.net.

EE offered me Note 8 with £42.99 pm with £50 upfront.
15gb 4g data
Unlimited call and text
EU plus 5 extra destination roaming
24 month BT sport.

What do you guys think of this offer?

Can someone please point me to a better deal?
I don't want to pay full amount of device or export from any Chinese website

No phone is worth this unless it's draped in gold and diamonds

Seems decent enough. The only thing holding me back from upgrading from my note 5 are rumours about the Note X. However, I may just pull the trigger, since I cracked the screen last week & battery life is diabolical

I would go for this. I pre-ordered the Note 8 from John Lewis for £869 and at first I wasn't sure about it but now I really like it. I've been a Note user since the original first launched. I pay £17.99 on SIM Only for the same package you've been offered (excluding BT Sport) and I think this is a good deal.

I can understand that others won't see this as a good deal but I think it very much depends on what you are looking for. I'd much rather have this than have paid £869 upfront for the phone. Hot from me.

Cold. Poor mans iPhone X.

I don't think it's that bad. Seen a lot worse. Added heat

Thanks for the heads up op. Just phoned EE and ordered it. Took a while to get them to match this but got there in the end!

Great phone!! Still unsure between getting the Samsung Note 8 vs iPhone X vs Samsung S8 Plus. I’ve always been an Apple fan!! But Apple have overpriced the iPhone X and now considering a switch over to Android!!?

Snap
Think Apple have over priced there product and it's the first time I've said sod that I'm not shelling out over a bag of sand for a phone.
Now wondering what to do try android again Sammy Note 8/S8+ or just keep my existing iPhone as it's still mint

I think Apple took a big risk removing the fingerprint reader, Lots of people are skeptical about the face recognition. And yes the price is going beyond a regular guys pocket will allow. There are lots of tech reviews on youtube comparing Samsung Note 8 with S8+.

I just phoned they claimed they couldn't offer the above?

Totally agree, One of the best features of the iphone was how good the fingerprint reader worked and was like lightning quick. Not into face recognition bs and feel it just wont work as good and who the hell wants to stare at the phone. I could unlock my handset via finger print when actually just picking it up.

Yeh read a lot of people say the Note 8 is just a S8+ with a pen thingy attached.

Has anybody had any joy with this deal?

Received mine today.

I meant anyone else, rang ee the best I could get was an 8+ 10gb for 40.99 plus 100 for the phone.

Likewise... Offered the above but only with £249 initial payment....

After initial higher offers i mentioned a deal I saw online and was offered 15gb...

£42.99 a month and £150 upfront

Or

47.99 a month and £89.99 upfront .

Hi, yes I phoned and said I've been offered some better deals elsewhere and referred to this deal to see if they could offer it to me. They initially said no but after a few minutes the chap went away discussed with someone and finally offered the deal to me. Got the Note 8 today. Stunning phone

Got a receipt? They refused me and sent me my pac code....

Maybe a receipt would strengthen my case when I phone again....

I have with ee for few years and i have got F&F Disc. They are offering me 42.99 for 60 upfront for S8 Effective cost 30.09 p.m. for 25 gigs. They are offering me for Note 8 upfront cost 150 n effective cost (like i describe for s8) is 35.
Now guys i needs your suggestion. Should i go for s8 or note 8. Bear this thing in mind that till 2nd Nov i could get free gear vr or should i wait untill black friday or christmas to get the price down for note 8. I m not in hurry.
Note 8 got dual camera and s pen which makes note 8 better then s8 or s8+.

Partner was looking for note 8 so rang EE and said we had been offered the above deal but in carphonewarehouse on a different network. Guy said best he could do was £48 a month with no upfront.

He did explain that the reason people get different deals is because EE reps get £700 per contract to work with so he can go as low as he wants as long as the phone cost is within that limit.

Happy though. Saved a ton of cash because of this retention deal suggestion

Oh this thread was for Upgrade/Retentions. Her contract was due for upgrade so we went straight through to the upgrades team.

Has anyone managed to get this deal recently?

EE SIM only 16GB with a circa £5/10 a month cost after rebates / cashback is where you price in the call package.

So if you have a price of £42.99 plus £50/24 = £45.07 and the SIM only is worth say £10, then the phone is costing (£45-£10) x 24 = £840 which is less than John Lewis.

However, it doesn't end there as the OP cannot afford the £840 (or doesn't want to pay it now) so if they were financing it, then it would likely be on a 20% plus APR credit card. That rebates the £840 down to £688 at 20% APR over 24 months and you can't buy the phone in the UK for £688 right now !

review ?

Yes got a better deal with vodafone on live chat.. £39 with £30 upfront and 16gb data .. Still a good deal posted if EE is your best option.

I have upgraded my sim only plan and was connected to cancellation team for cancelling line.. Was offered 30% . Upfront was 60 but i asked to reduced so max he could do 30 ..
