Possibly reduced to clear. They do this when dates are close to running out.
    Always worth a look though.
    Cheers for the heads up.

Used to work in Istanbul and this is a cracking beer.
Not my favourite beer, found it quite gassy and made me feel bloated. May have drunk too much of it though!

it is a gassy beer - a lot of people who share that thought opt for Efes Dark.
Just bought a couple with the same expiry date in Lichfield, but scanned at £1.29. Good price if you can find it for 74p.

Love Efes, but it somehow does taste better in Turkey with the Med lapping at your toes.

Imported or brewed here under license?

I remember thinking I got a great deal on some Asahi once. Turned out it was brewed here under license. Wasn't the same. Nowhere near as good as the Japanese brewed stuff ....
    Will look out for these.

had this a few times and its quite nice... most beer is though!

    how do you pronounce it?
Cheaper than what it costs in Turkey. I was there last September and I did not realise how much tax the current government imposed on alcohol.

It's pronounced the way you would pronounce the letter F and then the letter S so F-S.

they just added tax on alcohol by another 10% so that's gonna push over the counter sales to around 6.5tl in the cheapest bars and nearly 5tl in the markets. Doesn't bode well for 2015 tourism although I guess with the lira @ 3.6 -> £ currently it is still cheap for a holiday but killing the ex-pat market (_;)
I just hope Mrs Cool can get some at this price total deal tbh..
It's the Turkish name for the Ancient Roman city of Ephesus. Pronounced the same, but without the -us

Imported: Brewed and bottled in Istanbul.

    Marmaris?
That was Gumbet. Delightfully deserted in the last week of the season at the end of October 2013.

I've drank many a beer in my life and I don't think there is one that I would describe as horrible. Even Skol and ASDA Smartprice are better than "Horrible". Maybe "not great" or "not my personal favourite" would be more suitable. Certainly not worth posting your hatred twice!

I am sure I saw these priced at £3.99 for 4 in Tesco Extra this lunchtime, if you can't get to a B&M, cheaper than the £1.29 noted above.
