Wow. New face for your manager?

Next year the marketing team will be saying "Groundbreaking new feature - select from 4 types of managerial wear, from tracksuit to birthday suit"

Did this last year and didn’t regret it. The only thing I’ll say as a negative is that certain online modes aren’t as popular as others. This means at times it’s hard to quickly match with someone in the same game mode as you of equal ability. Other modes are fine for matching. I particularly like the ability to have 22 different users in one game. Makes for interesting team work
Pes has regained its former glory the last couple of years, the 2020 demo is superb and leaves the fifa hockey/football game in the dust for gameplay.

Really enjoyed playing the demo on PS4 but I’d only buy if the Master League has been noticeably improved, so I’ll wait for reviews & sub £30. Bought and sold the last two years as I hate how garbage ML has become and end up just playing My Club once a week instead, which can be played for free in the Lite version
Why have they called it eFootball?! Just in case anyone didn't know what PES was

Because they're focussing on Esports this year....
Heat...so addictive and encourages the passing game unlike the dreaded FiFa

It plays so much better than FIFA will be well suited to e-sports where the licensing isn’t essential to compete against each other

Just ordered one and got this.

“Your credit card will not be charged until the goods are ready for dispatch.“
Played the demo and I really like it. So many slight inconsistances happen, or deflections. Each play feels more unique and less automatic scripted. Playing in the default stadium camera, with zoom in and slightly higher. For me, it feels very much different and looks incredible. Kind of makes the game harder to score in a sense, but enough change (feeling) to buy this year's. Will wait a couple weeks until the PS4 team data is out. Can't be playing with London red/ blue etc before than.
Heat for the price and appears to be a good game this year. Hope they have kits for next gen and slowly working on that.

I joined the Fifa 19 party incredibly later this season. Too late if anything. And came to the conclusion that to enjoy FUT mode you have to be on the coin grind from launch, if you don’t want to buy Fifa points. It quickly gets old to rise through the ranks only to get rinsed by people with squads full of god tier cards. Takes away the competitive element of the game, it truly is pay to win these days.

And that’s even before we get to the game mechanics!

Im still torn, as I think I will miss Fifa and for the hours you spend in game, £50 is cheap. Then I feel like I’m just done with the EA ******** and going back to PES seems like the logical move this season.

I like the sound of that! Like a pimped version of a PC drop in match!
PES 2016 was my last one. I enjoyed it and platted it, just when so many of your mates are on FIFA it’s easy to be swayed that way...

EA has gone politically correct and attempts to rewrite history in battlefield 5, enough to make me jump ship to PES.
Anyone know if Base are good delivering on day of release?

EA can rot in hell. Anybody who gives them money doesn't understand that if they stop other much better companies can start competing again. They are literally ruining gaming and deserve to die.

me. i only bought fifa for clubs with friends, but im sick of the scripting. 1 day we can be amazing, the next, you cant even score an open goal and opposition can score backward volleys from stupid angles and distance in top corner. thats not just a one off either, it feels often. totally realistic lol. at least pes feels like a one off if it ever happened.

you sound like me. lol. i buy both usually. clubs on fifa, but i bought it 6 months late and most people in my club moved on. then i just got new ones, but there was no connection. i didnt enjoy. at least with pes, i played become a legend which is like clubs, but without the worry of human friends turning up. i actually can play with decent ai and score/assist.......even better, i can play when i want and even when i dont want to, its no big deal.

It will probably be ready for Launch to be honest as they have included the Edit mode in the demo which will carry over to the full game.

There is a way around this.

Buy EA Gamepass thing. Wait for Fifa 20 to be added 6 months after release... Buy Fifa 19 points on the cheap as they will be close to expiry around that time - add them to your Fifa 19 game, install Fifa 20 and move all your points over to the new game on your account.
That's exactly what I did last year and I bought quite a few packs from the points which allowed me to build my Prem Allstars team.

I only ever play FUT on Fifa as the gameplay is atrocious... then I stop playing FUT and become a stock broker, buying and selling players to help with SBCs and then find myself spending more time doing that on the app than actually booting up the game lol.
Anyone orderd from Base before? How are they with delivery?

Only thing holding me back are the online modes. Have they improved? Last time i checked they were horrible, and had hardly anyone playing. Are they as good as fifa?

The logic is sound. I’m not sure I want to give EA any more of my money though!
I enjoy building my team purely from rewards earned. I’ve never bought Fifa points. The issue is, you get into the elite levels and you’re then probably competing against players of a similar skill that have used Fifa points to get the edge. With Fifa, GTA and Fortnite leading the way, micro transactions are king nowadays. I want to lose to a better player, not lose to someone who rinsed me with a team full of prime icons

Haha, well a year sub is like £15. The coins go for as little as 1.99 for 1k points (which I bought about £10s worth last year just incase it didn't work - it did).
I play FUT but never play against people because the game is just so scripted and woeful in my opinion, and like you say teams full of 99+ rated players/icons and it just isn't fun to play against.

I think we should all just stay away from Fifa this year though... not sure how long that will last for me... but I'm adamant I'm not buying it lol.

I have Access. That’s why I joined the party late, in July when it came to Access! I feel like the rewards are there to earn from normal play, if you get it at launch, from what I’ve seen. I guess I can’t join this late and then complain. I also feel like giving Konami my money instead and getting properly into PES this year. Tbf I saw the PlayStation Access lads streaming it last season. Looked like they had a lot of fun

Yes and without going into it too deep (more than happy to). If you're are good on PES you win games. If you're good on FIFA you lose to BS.

Played ultimate team since FIFA 11 and it's gradually gotten worse. Suspected there was scripting for years and it was pretty much confirmed with that dynamic difficulty control patent. Have put a silly amount of money into it and it hasn't really developed much apart from more variants of cards released. FIFA is enjoyable for about a month then the flaws get found out and people exploit them. PES is more clunky but this one runs a lot smoother to the point where I'm not even entertaining FIFA. Plus the best edition of PES is £55 and you get a lot more than the £100 version of FIFA. I missed the FIFA days where you made a Silver team which if you were good, could compete with the best teams and players like Nilmar, Welington, Musa who were sweaty and OP but you had to build a naff team around them to get the right Chem and that was the fun of it. I see PES as going forward and FIFA going backwards and it has got to the point where they've crossed over, hence why I committing to PES this year.

Cheers for that.Wellington was the op Brazilian dude right? Yeah I’m feeling like I will go the same way, although starting 19 in July was probably not the best way to judge Fifa this year. In reality, the fact I waited for it to hit Access in July tells its own story. Time to board the PES train!

Its taken me a few weeks on fut playing really late and I have 2 92 rated squads on fifa spending zero (got the game on ps4 ea access). I find it very easy to build a good team as you can just buy and sell and play the market. Definitely can compete with that.

Having said that I just don't enjoy the actual gameplay mechanics. Torn whether I'll buy either game this year.

Agreed to some extent. Depends what opposition you come up against. When you’re at the top of elite, you will lose most times to a similarly skilled player who has the meta players all over the pitch. As much as I agree with you about building a team that can compete (I’m picking up players like De Paul, Can and Chiesa at this stage) going up against Ronaldo/Messi/Mbape is fine when facing a lower skilled opponent. Come up against someone with a god squad in the highest rivals divisions, or in FUT champs, and it makes all the difference. There’s a reason why everyone is using VVD, certain icons etc. I don’t doubt this would be different if I had started building in Sept 18, but it’s another compelling reason to jump to PES this year. The mechanics aren’t fun either, as you said...

Order confirmation states won't be charged until goods are ready for dispatch.

£35.85 here though, not sure if they've put the price up.
