I upgraded to a 2080ti and a 3900X 2 months ago and now I've been furloughed lol. At least I can max everything out until my house is repossessed

How does this compare to a 1080ti?
The 2080 is slightly faster but not much, but you do get "RTX"
I wouldn't upgrade from a 1080ti to this same performance
Im building on a budget. Not quite got enough for a 1660 super but hoping for something better than a RX570. Does anyone have a recommendation?
£1050 now

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2080-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080-Ti/4026vs3918I know it's not the specific model but I'm confused why the 2080 would score lower yet a much higher price.

Crazy good card.

Can't find a reason myself to upgrade from it so upgraded cpu/ram/motherboard.

Wtf is Amazon's pricing about

2nd hand 1060 6GB ?
If I buy this I'm gonna get annilhilated
8% in favor of RTX 2080. Do not use userbenchmark...it is not a credible source of information.

I'd just save abit more and get the 1660s or even more and rtx 2060

I'd push for a second hand 1070. I've got the 1060 and it's solid. Just wish it had a little more. It struggles with newer games on high. A good bang for your buck on the card in any case

What did you pay for it? Always wanted the 1080 ti but couldn't justify it at the time. It would have been a good investment years ago it seems.

Worst possible time to upgrade. Corona supply/demand problems means GPU prices have gone up considerably. For a very similar price of a 2070 Super now you could have bought a 2080 Super 3 months ago. Next gen of GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia is expected later down the year - far away enough that current gen are still full price but close enought that waiting might be a good idea.

Pretty much unless you can get an amazing deal/find a second hand deal, don't buy now.

What would be a good second hand price for these two? Graphics card is where my pc knowledge ends

This is a first build rather than an upgrade. Thanks for your advice. Sounds like I should go second hand? I've got most parts on order I just need to get a card and ram.

What's your budget for a graphics card right now? The market (even second hand) seems to be inflated right now compared to a few months ago, so depending on how badly you need the build now, might be good to wait.

I bought my 2060 6gb windforce for 213 iirc. It may have been slightly less.
I wouldn't pay much over 100.
Checked eBay completed listings, it seems up and down but I think you could get one for well under 150.
GTX 1080Ti is king of value IMO. I have a measly GTX 1080, however it is more than enough for me.

Look fwd to RTX 3000 series prices and news.

200 but was hoping for good bang for buck which i see is now unlikely.

Parts not due for 10 days so im hoping something pops up on here in the right kind of range. Could delay but the whole reason I'm doing this is because of the current situation.

My pc died and im using an old 2nd gen i3 which can barely stream netflix haha. I need a little project veing stuck indoors.

2070S dances with the 1080ti, the 2080 non S is a little bit faster than the 2070S, so this card would beat the 1080ti, just don’t expect it to be by much. One thing I will say is that now drivers optimisation has been focused on Turing, the difference in newer games will be more pronounced over the pascal cards.
Still waiting for a reason to upgrade by 1080ti, got it in a deal almost 3 years ago and nothing has made me consider an upgrade.

There’s been talk of a pronounced improvement in newer games since the 20xx series was announced but I’m still yet to see it. I play most games on a 144hz 1440p with zero issues on the 1080ti and don’t see it changing for a while yet.

I like you have a strix 1080ti OC which is a fantastic card. They pushed the prices way too far on the 2080ti and all they advertise is ray tracing. Absolute rubbish I'm due an upgrade but let's see how much the 30xxx and the 10700k come out at. For the moment my 6700k and 1080ti doesn't need changing it's just marketing that tells us we need it.

I got it for less than £500 a few years back on very.
It was mad tbh as they paid cashback x3 times.
Got a free game and £100 off.
Plus I sold my 980ti for decent money so all in all it cost like £40 to upgrade.
Weird thing is, the deal got put on here and didn't go that hot.
3 weeks later that mining craze hit and they where fetching stupid amounts like well over a grand.

Forgot to add it meant to come with a free game and it didn't turn up for ages so they credited £40.
Then I got an email with the game a month after.

Hahahaha nice turn of events!!!
The card was worth 500 though. Top of the range. The 2080 isn't even that, and is outperformed by the 1080 ti.

Perhaps AMD will sort their stuff out and force reasonable pricing from Nvidia.

That requires AMD having one hell of a card line up, something they havent managed since the 4670, 4770, 4870 and 4870 x2 days, and even then they were really ATI cards. That 4670 was epic for £60, imagine paying that for a 5600 XT nowadays.
5700 XT actually far outperforms the 2060 Super and is just slightly worse than the 2070 Super, despite costing less than a 2060 Super. If it wasn't for the initial AMD driver fiasco (that was blown way out of proportion tbh), this generation of GPUs would be a lot more spread between the two companies.
Over £1000!!! ..is Amazon mad?

Has the driver situation been sorted out now? Been out of touch with the scene for a while

It was never really as big of a thing as people claimed it to be. I have a few friends with a 5700 XT; none had issues. It seems like there was one bad driver released to the general public that had issues (only affecting some people anyway) that was then used as a way to scare people away from AMD. You always hear more of the negative reviews as those without issues won't go out of their way to say anything.

I say all this as an Nvidia fan.

if you're still looking to buy now, and to buy new, this is probably the best value for ~£200 you can get

I'm not a serious gamer (tho feel like I've become one the last few weeks lol) but have a similar setup....same cpu albeit the non Ti 1080.

Great card and like yourself, don't feel any need to upgrade as plays pretty much all games I play at ultra on my 1440p monitor. Think my 1080 is now 3 years old.
