This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

  • 2560 x 1440 QHD
  • HDMI, Displayport & DVI
  • 144hz / 1ms Response Time
  • Panel Type: TN
  • AMD FreeSync
In the process of looking for a gaming monitor for good value. In my opinion the specs for this monitor are great but its difficult to find reviews online. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor? Amazon have the EG model but I can't identify if it is the mark 2 listed here.

Posted this yesterday from ebuyer direct at £223.47. I have now purchased through ebay for an astonishing £187.70

Great price! Heat added.
Don't think I've seen a 1440p@144hz monitor this low price before even a TN

Even TNs despite their average screens have never been this low. That's my point.
It's still a cracking deal.
Every panel has its pros and cons.
You can play the IPS lottery as well
Or get a va panel with washed out greys
@Op do let us know how you find it when it arrives
Review: bit-tech.net/rev…/1/

TLDR: Extremely low contrast ratio and very poor uniformity (one corner is very dark, one corner is very light). Everything else is good to acceptable.

They give it a recommended despite that (they kinda gloss over those two terrible test results).

Also, this apparently comes with a terrible quality display port cable that causes dropouts when freesync is used.

Isnt the V2 just the same panel but with VESA mount and different stand?

I think some people don't like its a TN panel. The mark 1 version received mostly positive reviews on performance and wherever I look they do say its great value for money at £220. I can't find much even on YouTube about the mark 2 version. Also looked at amazon reviews, reddit and ebuyer reviews. I've decided to purchase it because I can't justify spending considerably more money on the next best one and hopefully this will do a good job.

It's always hard to get good reviews for ultra budget gear as they're always done "for the money" ie 'It's falling to bits, it caught on fire and I'm blind after using it but for £100 is a bargain, 4/5'.

Here's a video review of the MK1 that shows some of its flaws: techteamgb.co.uk/201…ew/

MK2 (the model on sale in the link) has Vesa mounting and a stand with more adjustment but it's unclear if there are more changes. I'd wager that some of the other big issues are unchanged: general build quality, that terrible joystick, awful viewing angles and contrast/uniformity issues. Haven't found more than short comments/posts about how the MK2 differs and they only mention the stand/VESA mounting.

I was actually the one who wrote this review for FULLSYNC. I will admit when I first received it the thing would power on (according to the light on the control) and the display just wouldn't work though, there was nothing there. I tried different cables and all sorts and it was clearly picking up an input but not displaying it. In fairness, they collected the faulty one and sent out another and I can't fault it much at all, except maybe for the controls, but once they're set to how you want, you shouldn't need to fiddle with them much again. Still using it to this day and never had a single issue with it since, although I have seen people complaining about dead pixels appearing which aren't covered by warranty.

As for the M2 I'm pretty sure all changes were cosmetic, mainly due to the criticism it had no VESA mount holes, so either it had to be superglued to a mount (I know someone who actually did this) or you had to take it apart to make your own holes, thus voiding the warranty. I also made the comment in my review about the logo on the front, and it seems they changed that too. Specs-wise though they are pretty much the same monitor just with a new outer shell. Hope this helps somewhat.

Still a great deal though for what you're getting.
Thanks @JoshFS90 I took the plunge yesterday on this, so it's reassuring to know that the baby's shoe fund was well spent.
Sending mine back. The control on the back of mine is so bad (or it's broken as I suspect) I can't actually adjust anything. Accidentally set to 0 brightness and can't move it back now. Stick is wobbly on its housing. Stand is god awful. Actual screen was okay it seems although not had much use of it before 0 brightness was set. Terrible quality control. Still, this is 3 X cheaper than the Acer Predator xb271hu I returned which also was subject of terrible quality control.

Sorry to hear that. I am really pleased. The stand is stable and the button on the back works fine on mine. The picture quality is excellent. I would have to spend a lot more money to get anything noticeably better.
