They're described as "all shapes, all sizes" - but the biggest is about 8" long, end to end - certainly large enough to use as an imitation gun or for juvenile smutty jokes.

rather buy fyfes bananas. the fairtrade stuff is usually rotten

This propaganda was brought to you by the fyfes marketing department.
It's also absolute nonsense, I've never seen a bad fairtrade banana.

Probably because people don't buy them, possibly due to ignorance on the Fairtrade issue.

Fairtrade stuff is always fine for me (at Tesco anyway) and tends to look and taste nicer than the standard bananas.

Cheers!

8" isnt long enough.

*wakes up*

Good price, with this, and the fake nipples posted earlier, looks like im up for a good few days.

Hmmmph.............For those people who have a genuine and legitimate need for realistically priced and sustainably sourced slightly curved, fleshy fruit, your ill-conceived and less-than-anarchic comment will perhaps be met with the disdain that it may or may not deserve.

I'll bet your one of those strawberry lovers.

It does make you laugh ...Just ignore like the other 50% posted on this site and now and again we might just come across a proper hot deal worth posting..

After reading a few books on economics I'm not too sure about the whole Fairtrade thing:

Free trade not Fairtrade then?

Comment noted.

I have a liking for the, shall we say, greener of bananas.

Therefore, HEY PRESTO, mushiness (a personal bugbear of mine when it comes to most fruits, not just the banana) simply isn't a problem!!

There was nothing in that link that convinced me fairtrade is bad.

It's the farmers fault they are poor? Getting paid a premium keeps them poor?

The farmers aren't deliberately producing crops they can't live off properly. The article also contradicts itself where it says the fairtrade farmers are making it worse for the other farmers in the region. Surely the other farmers could just switch to one of the crops the article suggests is a lot more profitable if it was that easy?

How much do they weight? These 8 for 93p are the "basics" ones aren't they, any difference?
All Bananas are fairtraide in Sainsburys. The loose standard ones are £0.68/kg so I would have thought it no cheaper buying 8 loose Bananas.

I don't know how much they weigh.

My better half has thrown the packaging away.

I have no reliable kitchen scales to hand.

I have eaten several of said fruits.

I am unable to help, except to say, I believe it to be a fine deal indeed.

it doesnt sound very "fair trade"
