ive got a 3d printer, there are 3d models online which allow you to convert one battery type to fit another tool. just needs a couple of metal strips inserted into the 3d print. thingyverse has examples for einhell

Anyone else wishing that all power tool batteries were universal?
That would be really good for the environment !

Already got 2 ages ago as I thought the wickes price was really good. These work with Ozito tools as well

Is the battery available on it's own?

If only we could pay billions of pounds into a trading block that would think of things like this and force manufacturers hands .....oh......we do.....and they haven’t...

No., unfortunately not.
just bought the einhell brush-less drill from toolstation as it is £99 at the moment - very nice bit of kit, came with 2 x 2ah batterys

Good for the environment but absolutely rubbish for the business, hence why they don't care about the environment. Unless of course they can make money from "helping" the environment.

Is it like this one?

I've just got my first flat and trying to build up my tool collection for DIY stuff, is this a good battery and can someone please reccomend a reasonable drill to go with it?

I'm not a joiner, I just need to occasionally drill things (dont we all)
Is this in store only? Price still at £60 online.
Still full price online at this time?
google says toolstation are open now. so would expect the price to be changed online.
unless its instore only
I called the local store and the price hasn't been reduced

Not sure when the new catalogue prices start. I blagged a new catalogue from behind counter and they said its for June and they will be getting them out at the weekend so I assumed 1st June... I think it will be Sunday or Monday now the new prices start. Maybe someone can confirm but they will be valid for 3 month's so plenty of time to get one or two batteries. Think I'll grab two. Here are some other items.. I've edited so show Monday as the catalogue start date.

37767620.jpgTheir brushless combi drill is good. I've had this one a year.. Hammer action is fine..it's £72.98 without battery which is your best option, then get the battery and charger separate as above. Einhell PXC TE CD18Li-I BL Power X-Change 18V Li-Ion Cordless Brushless Combi.. Item 68476

On previous offers its said this in the advert to with all the tools then on another page (my first picture) no mention of this sales condition. I raised this with the sales staff but they just said it was fine to go ahead and buy on its own at the promotion so I bought 2.. Looks like the same has happened again.

The offer is valid only if you buy bare tool and add battery-charger to basket. If you read the Catalog picture, this is mentioned

I would be inclined to buy some tools at Homebase for the battery compatible (and 5 year warranty) tools like brushless hammer drill £43, £25 reciprocating saw, and then look at something like the £50 cordless multi-tool at toolstation

That’s not a bad price. you can get that for £25 at toolstation at the moment which is an excellent deal I think - but only when buying with a bare power tool at the same time

yes but the bare brushless ozito (einhell) hammer drill at homebase is on sale at 42 pounds, and its about 72 quid at toolstation
Whilst in Einhell, I’ve mentioned the cordless multitool on discount at around £50; you can get this tool with a charger and two of 2ah batteries for about £78 at a few well established tool shops on eBay
I was told last week that the new catalogue comes out June 3rd.

wickes sell the same battery and charger for 38 on its own no deal needed, then goto homebase and look at the bare ozito tools which are on sale (ozito is same as einhell), i.e. the bare tools are much much cheaper to buy from homebase due to the homebase sale, so its cheaper to buy battery from wickes and tool from homebase

Einhell is 60Nm while homebase version is 55Nm so not same spec

Ah yes
wayners01/06/2019 12:51

Actually, it's worse than that as Homebase have listed the wrong specs: they did get the model number correct (verified it for at least some of the models in my local Homebase). In-store the Ozito packaging list both of those brushless (the normal drill and the hammer drill) as being 40Nm. And the Ozito website confirms this:
ozito-diy.co.uk/pro…0u/ (the brushless hammer drill)
ozito-diy.co.uk/pro…0u/ (the brushless normal drill)
Whereas Toolstation list the correct specs:
einhell.co.uk/sho…tml
Of course, there's a bit price difference and the Einhell is 1.4kg vs 1.1kg. So while both maybe come from the same factory they aren't identical.
This battery deal is great (if it becomes available), but at the price of the Einhell I wonder if buying a Dewalt, Makita, or Bosch blue isn't better? Guess their entry level ones shouldn't be compared to the brushless Einhells or Ozitos ones.
One advantage of the big three tool manufacturers is spare parts as even for most their old NiCd tools spares can still be obtained (but then brushless should require less maintenance).
@Gkains I've looked at the cover of new catalogue and this don't look a bad deal for dewalt? Maybe
