Horrible things, bought one, used it once, hated it, removed it and threw it in the bin. There's £40 I won't see again. Also, make sure you don't sleep with this on as it's bad for your health.

How can an electric blanket be bad for someone's health?

Good price but this one you have to tie on. I'm looking for a fitted one if anyone sees one at a good price please notify me.
With regards bad for your health I have to completely disagree. I suffer from a bad back & Raynaud's disease so feel the cold even more than most people & electric blankets make my life a whole lot better.

Apparently the heated coils are carcinogenic

I use an electric blanket more or less every night. I get way better sleep with this on. Please post a link if you have read a study showing that these are carcinogenic.

If you take one and fold it up round your head and leave it on there is a possibility it may increase the changes of you getting a brain or blood related cancer.

But on the plus side you may also die due to drinking, smoking, over eating, crossing the road, walking in a storm or maybe hypothermia!

It's probably a good idea to never use a mobile phone or microwave either.

These are not in the sale yet. But heads up for where you can get them, and you can keep checking to see if they get reduced. I want one of these as well, but waiting for reduction.

usually available in tesco for a lot less and reduced to ridiculous prices in the sale, mine were about £1.60 a couple of years ago and I saw them for about £3 last year

"These heating devices can produce electromagnetic fields (EMFs). People with medical conditions that could be affected by these, such as pregnancy, should consult their doctor before using the blanket
Some doctors advise that nobody should be exposed to EMFs for long periods of time. If you have any concerns, speak to your medical professional
People with conditions that can reduce sensitivity to pain, such as diabetes, should not use electric blankets due to the increased risk of receiving a burn
Electric blankets can cause the body’s temperature to rise, leading to dehydration and a disturbed night’s sleep"

Plus: Electric blankets account for over 5000 fires a year in the home
