Had an older version of this. They are fab for camping, touring holidays. Our did the lands end to John o'groats trip! Top spot op!
Still scared by your new avatar though!
Must be the same offer as Lidl had recently, these are excellent as it is dual powered by mains and 12v car. Tescos, also has a model which is similar except no mains at same price.
These work very well and keep your food cool, especially on long trips.

(_;)
What sort of temp does it keep stuff at? Could I use it to keep my beer and coke nice and cold for those hot summer days?

Up to 17 degrees below ambient, so if it hits 20 today, it would keep your beer at 3. Most fridges are at 4-5 degrees.
I bought the Lidl one, its great, would recommend.
Bought one last year for the same price. It is great paid for itself in months. A trip via a supermarket to buy ice creams for the picnic and you don't have to buy them from the ice cream stall at events at 500% markup. And chilled beers for the dads on picnics with the kids goes down a treat. Even the trip to France saved a fortune, buy stocking up on meat at UK and not Euro prices.
Question for the current users - not au fait with the capacity stuff.....Can you fit a lot of stuff in it?

Thanks in advance.
Yep its big, you can easily fit a 2 litre bottle and loads of other stuff around it.
I'm sure it is not 50L capacity. Excluding empty spaces between 2 litre bottles it should take about 20 big bottles of water... I don't think so...

Agreed. The 50 litre claim is slightly optimistic.25 x 2 litre bottles would struggle to fit in a shopping trolley ! How big is this thing ??!

You'd need to open the bottles and pour the Coke into the cooler but they do take a fair amount of stuff. We use one for the caravan and it's great although the birring off it can drive you mad in the middle of the night.

I have bought these from Aldi before and they are very good - Its best if your items are cool before going in. Also I think its a mis-print regarding the size as they are usually 26 litres in size - 50 litres would be massive.

I've got one that looks very similar to the one pictured bought from Towsure last year. It's 24 litre but costs almost double.... this isnt branded, but I guess does the same thing.

Mine works best with a couple of frozen gel packs chucked in (_;)
highly reccomend this as we used it last nite at 60th birthday party.Started at 7.30 finished at 2am kept drinks cold & ice frozen
17 below ambient temperature what if the temp is minus 270?

..then a vortex will open up and swallow the fridge contents, transport them back in time to the ice-age than dance a fine jig worthy of nomination for the headline act at the London Palladium.

Quite impressive for a fridge.

..cryogenics ?

I bought the Lidl one.

..might be better with something a bit larger, can't get much in a lidl one...
That would be extremely heavy to carry when full.
A friend recently bought a 40l version from Halfords, but it comes with wheels.
watch out for these, some dont switch off when you turn off the ignition.....dumb and a good way to flatten your battery
At ,that temp you wont be around to see it
is this suitable to be kept on all the time - to use instead of a fridge?

reason I ask is because i'm sharing a flat with a few other people at the moment and don't have much room in the fridge for some things so i could maybe stick one of these in my room.
Don't think it can keep things frozen for days tho.

No, it's a cool box, not a freezer.

Kept one hooked up to my car while at a festival, didn't flatten my battery over the 3 day period? Went out for dinner once and that was it.

I bought a costco one a few years ago, I still use it on ocassion. ( will heat up too, quite versatile)

...but it has no thermostat so some of the contents do actually get frozen as the cooler in my one operates constantly.

If these have thermostats, that's good, not sure if they do - can anyone verify ?
Have had one of these from Aldi for a number of years they are well worth the money. I also put some frozen freezer packs in as well to lower the temperature even more. But be careful what you put the freezer packs next to as they can end up frozen as well.
Thanks for this. I was thinking of using this for our wedding because we will have to bring frozen food quite a long way to the venue.

I know it's only supposed to be used as a fridge, but does anyone know if it would keep food frozen for around 2.5 hour car trip?
Just been to local Aldi and bought one of these. They are NOT 50L......they are 30L.
Must be a typo on the website.
Just picked one up from my local Aldi - it's 30l, not 50l. They also had camping triple block EHUs (electric hook up units for tents) for £39.99, which is cheap. On closer inspection (i.e. someone had opened the box and taken one out), these are Sunncamp EHUs. The outside box doesn't mention Sunncamp at all, but the unit itself is marked Sunncamp. It's exactly the same as the Sunncamp EHU I have which cost me a whole lot more.

Bought one of these 5 years ago and it has been great. It keeps enough in it for a family of 4, without the booze. For the alchoholics out there, this is not for you.
If you're after an electric cool box, then I thoroughly recommend getting down to Aldi and getting one of these. Although it doesn't say it anywhere on the wrapper or outside, this cool box is made by Waeco (a very reputable firm for this type of product). The link below shows the branded version (which is exactly the same as the Aldi version) for sale at nearly double the price.

Even better link, with video below:

It's the Waeco Mobicool U-32.

Just picked one up from local store (first one in the queue), had about 15 units on shop floor, within a couple of mins only about 5 left, so I think they will sell out quick.
Sides and top built out of hard plastic (not flimsy like others I've seen)so feels strong and well built. Switched it on for about 10mins and you could feel the difference in temp especially around the under lid area, cooling capacity 18C below ambient Temp.
It's 30L not 50L as advertised but still a little bit bigger than the 24l Outwell\Tristar ones at GoOutdoors, also comes with 3 years warranty.

By looking at the design of these units I would say they are made by Waeco\Mobicool which sell for about £60

I think we do...

I love my camping. By the way, did your store have the EHUs that appeared to be in non-descript non-branded boxes, but were in fact sunncamp 3 socket EHUs? They're also a bargain at £39.99. Can't wait for the rest of the gear to go on sale on Thursday.
