Thats weird, I tested the code several times - glad it's all sorted now
Can I use code to collect in store do you know please? Great offer
electricity is more expensive than gas right? the power of this unit, I mean if left on for large parts of the day will end up costing a lot more right? not colding the deal, just trying to find out if I should buy it or not, or will it whack my bills up in the winter......
Electric fires will cost 3-4 times as much to run as mains gas for the same amount of heat.
But if you already had a gas fire in the room you would not be considering this fire . Most people buy buy these just to top up heat in a certain room, or to just heat the one room instead of heating the whole house with the central heating.

Wood burning stoves are pretty terrible for particulate pollution, especially in built up areas.

This might sound like a weird question but is there a setting to have the flickering log effect on without having the heat on. are there separate switches for both? I quite like the idea of just being able to have the glow from the "fire" without the extra heat.

Ideally I'd get an opti-myst for something that looks more realistic, but those are about 10 times the price if not more!

Cheers.
Also does the door open at all so that I could mess with the LED log part? I was thinking of doing a DIY project on it where I install an old laptop screen with a real fire on it, to see if I can make something more convincing. Just for fun.

Dial on left is thermostat, first switch is just for light effect, next switch is 1000w, 2nd switch 2000w and a dial on the right to higher and lower the light.

The door opens and so does the one underneath which houses the controls

What we do is use ours for an hour if the house us cold while the central heating kicks in. But yes they are expensive if left on for long periods.

And how are these for heating the room in that hour? I could work with that, use it in the morning etc to take the chill off whilst the rads kick in.

That's fine with me living in the country .As long as I'm warm.Diesel cars are toxic also.Wonder how you power those electric fires?Nuclear, coal?
Yes noticed difference but on site does say 400008, on the box also says 400008
Ordered two, will update when they arrive. Thanks, Op

How is it on electricity?

It will be the same wattage draw as any other heater source that is 2000 Watts, whether it be a fan heater or electric radiator, e.g, if you pay 60p per kWh, it will cost 2 times that so £1.20 per hour to run more or less.

Mine heats the room to a nice temp. Our boiler broke down last winter and we used this in the morning for the kids to get dressed and eat etc before going to school.
Got mine today it’s a nice fire for the money
Thanks for this. Mine arrived yesterday and I’m very pleased with it. I received the same one as Tazmanuk, not the one advertised, but I’m happy with that as I prefer the look of it. The flame effect is quite nice. It is a bit loud when the fan is running but that won’t bother us as I’m putting it on a timer to come on for a couple of hours and help heat the house before we get home from work.

You plug it in?
EN1GMA5 m ago

Just asking but how so? More economical?

Yes. More economical and heat out put is better in terms of dry heat you get from element based electric heat.
Oil filled is more like gas central heating heat
Just bought pretty much the same model from Aldi for £49.99. Gutted.
