is this necessary this a credit crunch you know!:whistling:

Itll be relegated to the same cupboard as the bread maker, ice cream maker, steam cleaner, waffle maker etc etc. Useless tat. Stick your plates in the oven for a minute and theyll be warm if you need warm plates, never really understood the warm plate concept myself. Unless you run a restaurant where food takes longer to get to the recipient.

Personally i do like a hot plate and find running them under the hot tap is handy if you've no room in the oven.' Renown's tip of the day'

My wife has been using one of these for five years. Good china can be damaged in a hot oven. If you don't want one - fine. But this is a deal for those who do because it is £10 cheaper than anywhere else. It is also much cheaper than using the oven.

As the previous poster says - just warm the plates in a sink of hot water for a minute or two. You don't need a seperate appliance (with the space it takes) just for this trivial task.

I have obviously misunderstood the purpose of this site. I thought it was to identify genuine bargains but it appears to be something else. I did not realise that you should vote cold if you don't like an item or do not find it personally appealing.

This would need to be £5 or less to get any heat on here. Not much of saving really unless you was looking to buy one and i don't think to many are going by the comments so far.

Hot plates cold deal.

please don't take it all so seriously:)

£24.95!! OMG!! Whatever happened to sticking them in the oven! You could buy an oven for that price!!

On second thoughts, with the Blackwatch tartan, you could always use it as a rather warm kilt, - handy in this cold weather for keeping things warm! LOL!
Please dont take it personally Doid, I`m only kidding!

Not good for silver or gold rimmed plates :whistling:

:whistling:Where do you get electric plates from??

Good deal - I bought one of these from Lakelands a couple of years ago - and it is used at least 5 times a week.

The cost of heating up the oven or running the water until it gets hot is not (in my opinion) particularly cost effective alternative - especially when you are on a water meter as well.

And it also annoys me when people vote according to whether they like a product rather than whether it is a good deal.

a) I like a hot plate for my food, but then my house is a bit cold and I eat a bit slow, or do I savour it?
b) I have zero intrest in one of these because I will stick it under the grill, in the oven or whatever.
c) I wont vote on this, simply because its something that doesnt interest me.

You dont NEED to vote btw.

First deal - very scary! Don't let comments put you off. The more we share the better it is for all of us, there will be people out there who benefit from your post who just can't be a*sed logging in to say thanks so be assured, folks are paying attention. Good luck with future posts

Yes - I ranted over this product but dont take my comments to heart. Keep posting deals you find, I appreciate the effort you took to make the post even if I didnt personally like the product.

Good point - I voted cold because I thought it was a worthless product - on reviewing everyones posts I agree I voted wrongly - a good deal is a good deal no matter even if its a plastic dog poo. I will keep this in mind in my future voting.

I came across this because I was looking (admittedly pointlessly) for a plate warmer. 4 years 9 months on there have been no further posts from Doid. I don't blame the guy.
