Most accurate picture in it’s class and support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Cracking deal! I've got the TX-55FZ802B which is just over a year old and it's a great OLED TV, like @drummerdave22 said QLEDs have higher brightness and are more of an all around TV, where OLEDs I feel are more catered to movies where you switch the light off and get engrossed in the vibrant colours and natural blacks you get from an OLED.

No Disney Plus and not coming any time soon :(

I bought it with the sound bar that now works out at £140 if you want to look at it that way. It was supposed to be £600 don't know about that but for this price jump in. (y)

Whilst the panels are indeed the same, image processing and factory calibration can make huge difference. Motion handling is often where the biggest differences can be seen between the makes and models

TLP

The OLED panels are all made by LG aren't they? No wonder people are finding it difficult to split them. Any differences will largely be due to processing. The thing is, I don't think anyone watching a film on any of the sets debated are going to be saying I wish that black was 0.01% blacker or notice the difference between 700 nits and 770 nits of brightness. You're just going to enjoy the film. The differences are not so massive that it should be a heated debate over - first world problems. I use the same argument with speakers. At a certain quality level, any improvement over that level is pretty much ignored when you're being entertained by the media. The difference is still perceived, it's just that you don't care whilst using it. I bought an E9. Why? I liked the look of it. Yeah, it was better than the B9 (by quite a lot actually) but I'm not sure I'd really notice the actual differences during Moana or Barry Lyndon. However, it sits there looking pretty when it's off and that I do notice.

IT.Troll

That’s an interesting article. It looks like the high gaming score on the LG skewed the overall result somewhat. Also worth noting that all sets were double calibrated. The Panasonic is generally regarded to have a more accurate picture out of the box if you don’t want the added expense of pro calibration.

I'd seen a review of the 55OLED754 saying it was the best value for money as I'm looking for a new TV. However so much around after a simple look on hot UK Deals and now I'm confused

mooruk

Got mine and dead chuffed. Can someone tell me the hierarchy of formats? SD < HD < 1080p < 4k are pretty straight forward, but then hdr, uhdr, Dolby vision etc? Just confusing when on Prime Video and Netflix to see which is the best. Sorry if this is a stupid question!

luvadealme

Brilliant, I nearly got the w1070 but went for the optoma GT1080 for short throw. Am a Panny fan but also considering the LG B9 or C9 for a bit more future proofing on the gaming side...ah tough choices to make!

Mr.Shoogles

My God, that is exactly me, even down to the same plasma model! That's what I've replaced. I still think it's brilliant TV. I've only just set up the new TV tonight and need to play about with settings tomorrow but first impressions of 4K content are sensational. I love my projector too (by any chance do you have a BenQ 1070?!) but the 4K is just crystal clear. I think both the 4K TV and the projector will have their place. I'd also recommend the 65 inch to make the most of the picture quality. I just decided 55 wouldn't be a big enough change and I'm very happy with my choice (well, based on one hour's viewing tonight!)

luvadealme

Thanks, am having a dilemma, I feel like it's time to get a 4k tv, however I have an old Panasonic 50inch GT from the last line of plasmas, but also I use a 1080p projector. My usage is typically 50% films, 30% series on netflix prime, 20% gaming. Is a new 4k tv, 55 or 65 going to improve on my projector or not really?!

Mr.Shoogles

I'm a bit late in seeing this deal but big thanks to Mr Switch for posting - price matched with RS today and got it for £1,750 which is a cracking deal. I wasn't even looking to buy a TV and just stumbled across the 55-inch deal recently posted for £1,000, then decided to look for 65-inch deals and found this. Actually, given what I've just spent I don't know whether to thank you or hate you (lol) It replaces a 7.5 year old Panasonic plasma so can't wait to see what the picture quality is like. Cheers again!

I purchased this TV before Christmas because of reviews that mention the wide viewing angle, and very good review on Which. I found the TV was not exceptional, and disappointing with regard to the wide viewing able (compared to my old Sharp TV). But ended up keeping it as I figured the alternatives wouldn't be any better.

No it will be poor viewing angel due to va screen get the ips 49 inch 55 inch for better. But this better at night.

What I paid for mine at xmas. Best 55" out there

Mrsweet

That's good advice as the smoothing does give that sped up look to it, the 'soap opera effect'. If you're feeding any of these high end TVs good quality content, it's often best to switch off the majority of extra processing settings they offer as it can make the picture look unnatural or you can lose some detail from the image.

Dorsk

Bought this TV in January - great set, amazing image quality and great for gaming. Just remember to turn off the smoothing (makes images look weird and as if sped up)

MrSwitch

miaas

I'm looking for a bedroom TV, is this Full HD?

grommachine

Appears a good price and ok basic TV. found this review on AMAZON to give a bit more info. "All the Philips (UK) information for this is listed under 32PHT4503/05 not 32PHT4203/05. They are basically the same TV but no UK support page as I believe this was for the German market. You will need to search 32PHT4503/05 for any software updates and it is such an old way of updating as you have to use a USB stick for updates not just do a search directly from TV. The power cable is fixed so you cannot change it for a shorted or longer one. The HDMI connections are in the most silly place if using on a stand as you have to lift or tilt the TV way forward to insert. I have found that the USB does work for movies, music, etc but does not support my SanDisk USB 3.0 so using a 2.0 although this is a bit of an issue as it takes ages to upload onto stick from PC. No problem with a Samsung TV of the same age. Be aware this is not a SMART TV but easy to add a smart box or stick. Remote is difficult to navigate after a Samsung and is light as a feather. You are buying budget here. On the plus side the frame of TV not too cheap looking and has a Philips badge but it will show every fingerprint and spec of dust due to glossy finish. It will also scratch very easily so be careful what you use to clean it. The picture takes a lot of messing about to get the colours and brightness correct but is okay when done, far from brilliant but decent. I feel there is still some motion blur even after trying all the setting with all auto features / correcting / eco off. I cannot comment on sound but don't expect much. I am using a Samsung soundbar that connects via optical and works fine with TV. Legs take a bit of fiddling to put on and it feels that the screws are not going in as they should as they are stiff to turn but all went together fine and no wobble or lean. All in all great for a small spare room or a bedroom and does have the option of going on a wall (no wall bracket supplied). For the money I would rate 7 or 8/10. 32" TVs are harder to come by these days and larger versions can be the same price or less. I got this TV from Tesco Outlet with a 12 month warranty and 10% off eBay event so worked out at £116.00 including delivery. I think at this price with warranty it is decent value but don't expect it to blow you away. Hope this helps somebody as there are no reviews so far to date."
