I can certainly vouch for these pet bed warmers. My elderly cat would not be without hers. She absolutely loves it. She now prefers to be in her own little bed rather than on my bed.
I paid a lot more than £10 so this is definitely a bargain.
This pad is the small size. Good enough size for cats and small dogs. You could always get two if your pet is larger.

Would this not encourage a huge cat fight ?

An 8.5 inch electrical device to keep your pussy satisfied in bed.

For £10?

HEAT.

Says its 120 Volts so will NOT work in the UK unless they send another version to the one in the photo!

If you try to use this, you will fry your pussy!

Too much work to make this a good deal for me.

Indoor only and from reviews not very long lasting. Cannot find the out door (garage/shed) one in the uk.

I bought a decent heat pad for my small dog from a whelping company online. I wouldnt want to use the one in the deal.

Terrible deal, any cat or dog could chew through that cable in about 15 seconds!

a 10 second search on eBay turned up this with at least a "chew proof" (I prefer 'shielded') cable and waterproof:

BEST.THING.EVER. X) My cat would love this!

This may lead to the McPussy in McDonald's next month.

Agreed with this, it seems like a terrible idea to have something with a live cable ur pet can easily chew through when it bothers them/they're bored, especially considering how good an idea it could be with a bit more effort. VERY cold.

Do they do trade-ins? Old pussy for New...

Not so, for cats at least. I doubt any adult cat would be interested in "chewing" through the cable. My cats have not been in the least interested in chewing any part of the device in the 3 years of owning a heat pad. A dog on the other hand....well I guess dogs will be dogs. With anything like this, common sense would be required on the part of the owner to route the cable in such a way to not allow the animal to chew on it, whether the cable is shielded or not.
The beast that lives next door to me can chew through most things and any attempt at shielding would be futile...
...His dog is just as bad too!
If you don't fancy it and it's not for you, fair enough, there are other similar, more expensive items available on the market but i thought this was a deal site. Ten quid for heat pad is rather good by my reckoning.

Got 3 cats and the youngest does chew cables if you're not watching it, the other two have grown out of it and don't bother as they get told off.

£10 for the risk of an electrocuted cat, I don't think so somehow.

"Do not use pins or other metallic means to fasten this pad in place"

Good old septics, surprised it doesn't warn you not to lick the contents!

I'm sure they'd learn quick!
I've never had any pets that chewed through electrical cables.

But, this'd only just about manage my dog's head, so not for me.

So non of you have got any cables lying about your house anywhere ? Most houses have cables everywhere these days.

I really don't get this. Most animals have fur, and are perfectly able to regulate their own temperature unless they are sick. They won't die when the ambient room temperature feels "a bit cool" to us. Add to this the rises in energy prices, and this deal just seems wholly absurd

Try keeping a house rabbit for a few weeks! Wireless takes on a whole new meaning...........

Most vets use this... 10hrs warmth..and much safer.

So what about all the other electric cables ie tv lamps does your cat chew these?

the money spent on pets in the western world alone could end child poverty worldwide trufax

I say turn it up and cook the little killers!

With the threat of power cuts in the news, using power to keep your cat warm may lead to the pensioner couple next door being found frozen stiff during a pet heating extravaganzer induced power cut.

No because they're firmly wedged behind the TV cabinet out of sight. The only exposed wires available to chew are (thinks) phone and tablet charger.

That's a UKIP policy right there.

The unpaid taxes of large companies could be used to solve world poverty,
The millionaires who make charitable donations for tax saving purpose could also contribute. Trufax!

Doesn't mean **** though. There's enough food in the world but people are still dying. If people choose to spend their money trying to make the animals in their lives a little happier/more comfortable then let 'em.

Here's a thought - I use my cat to sit on my lap to keep ME warm - saves gas AND electric and I save money not buying crap off the internet! Tadah....

You must bore/annoy people crazy in your life if you go around making completely facile points like that thinking you'll actually being clever.

If we all gave up our televisions and smart phones and game consoles and holidays or a myriad of other non-essential things in our lives and gave the money instead to child poverty agencies, child poverty could be eradicated. No **** Sherlock.

We use similar in the vets where i work with dogs and cats, and small fluffys too, obviously they're closely monitored but they are great at keeping animals cosy. As long as you keep an eye on your animal when it's using it they're safe. If your worried with chewers though snuggle safes are microwavable ones that work just as well, i use them for my guineas.

I'd be a bit nervous about using anything electrical with a cat, what about their claws? You could buy one of those radiator cat beds amazon.co.uk/s/r…240 (thought they were an old-fashioned thing but you still seem to get them!).

For best results, the pad is inserted into or covered with the cat's favourite blanket. Therefore no direct contact between the pad and cat. Makes for subtle warmth and a cozy bed. The pad I have has a 1 amp 12v adapter, which is nothing to worry about and will not kill or "fry" a cat should they happen to pierce the unit by biting or scratching through. At worst they'd get a very mild zap. It would be much less than say the zap an animal would get from an electric sheep fence found on farmland for example.
It's not explicit in the amazon description whether this unit comes with an adapter. It would need one in order for it work safely and on UK voltage. I'm assuming because they are selling it on .co.uk and is supplied by amazon then it will be compliant.

What about the money spent on other pastimes and activities?
Like leisure cycling, computing, snow sports, staying in hotels?

Hell, you could use water rather than toilet paper and leave food outside in winter/not get frozen food in summer if you actually cared :).
