DeLonghi ESAM 5400 Perfecta Bean to Cup Espresso Machine only £483 @ Electric Shopping UK

Great offer on Bean to cup De Longhi coffee maker. Everywhere else i can see it for £549. you can also get an extra 5% off if you're a new customer i think (pop up appeared)

Sorry, but not a good price for this machine at all. I would be hoping for a fully automatic model at this price e.g this one from Curry's

link to curry's for the ECAM 22.360.S

I have the ESAM 5400 which I bought new for £260 a couple of years ago. I have been very pleased with it bit would hate to have paid £483 for it.

Have been using this machine for 4 years every day!!! Brilliant!!! Amazing coffee (of course also depends on coffee beans) Got it from Amazon for £249

Seen this in currys salisbury for £299.99 clearance. That was on monday.

great coffee machine that i highly recommend but has been a lot cheaper in the past

Agree. We've had this model for nearly four years, hasn't missed a beat and is in daily use.

Not the best price I've seen for it though, Amazon a better bet,

Gets rid of mice, mosquitos and other creepy crawlies. Normally £25 + some expensive delivery fee on the shopping channels, much cheaper here and free delivery

Haven't used this make, but another and they don't work. And its not about cleanliness, its about living in the country and mice moving into the garage in the autumn/winter.
Buy some good old fashion mouse traps instead.

How about saving the £19 and trying to keep the place clean and tidy instead?

I remember making one with a mix of milk, fruit and fromage frais the old fashioned way (stcking the mix straight in the freezer and giving it a heavy stir every hour or so). 175g sugar (approx 20p)
225ml milk (approx 20p)
450ml whipping cream (approx £1.20)
flavouring as required (expensive vanilla extract is £6ish for 100ml so approx 24p)

Why would you want a brown face and white body anyway, surely you may as well fry the lot if youre that way inclined:?

When we bought ours here from Amazon (summer 2009) the machine, (as many others have stated, allegedly had 12 speeds..

WRONG ..this has now been corrected after we were originally fobbed off & lied to by kenwoods customer service team.

A lady who shall remain nameless eventually replaced it with a free of charge Kenwood KM010 ,..so if you bought it for the 12 speeds originally advertised on both amazon, the packaging & manual, you have a beef with kenwood, originally they tried to fob me off with the term "micro-switches" ..in other words slight increments of speed (after all it is numbered to 12) then after the ruse was evidently up they caved in & came clean.
A few days later after discussion we had our km010 delivered complete with all the advertised attachments.
Did you buy one?, go look & call them if you have been mis-sold.

been looking for one of these for the wife, thanks good deal

Can anyone tell me the dimentions of this induction hob? (HxDxwW)

Anyone know what the minimum temp of this hob is? We're having trouble with our new induction hob as it doesn't seem to go low enough, especially when cooking sauces. I was thinking that we could get one of these single hobs in addition to the main one, assuming it will solve the problem.

Original Poster

Well, my brand new induction hob has arrived, and the instructions make it all look very simple. Set the power; set the temp; cook; unplug when finished!

Just have to pop down to Tesco's tomorrow and buy some magnetic pans (should have done that while I was waiting for the delivery!)

Anyway, the company is legit, in case anyone is still wondering. Delivery was via courier, and considering I ordered (very) late Wednesday, and received it on Friday, I am very impressed with them.

An early question - why does this hob have both power and temperature settings? Is this the case for all induction hobs? I would have assumed that either one or the other would be enough.

TBH, I was really surprised. Twin inductions are around £130; fours start around £350; so a single one like this; that you could fit in a worksurface if you wanted to, and have an extra hob; or just use around the kitchen, at this price, is a bit of a no-brainer to me.

I already have a five-ring gas hob that I love to death; but that hasn't stopped me getting one of these that I can pull out of my cupboard come Christmas time when all 5 hobs are hard at it and my wife says "you'd better start the bread pudding...."

Gets excellent reviews does this shaver.... £140 @ Boots and £120 at Amazon.... but a nice £97.50 here :) Just ordered one for myself as I was after a new shaver. Gazza.

One from boots less three blades too as far as I was aware

Anyone know whats the best arond £50, any deals about? :-)

Col

The shaver mentioned in the deal is really good, got one from Boots when they were discounting them (mentioned here pre-xmas). The three blades do make a big difference if you've got sensitive skin, I've stopped getting getting any skin irritation using this new model.

I know the one in boots mentioned above is not same model number.

I mentioned it as a cheaper alternative since it currently has about £40 knocked off and I have just ordered one.

The same model number in boots is 139.99 like the original poster stated in first post.

Col

no, but it walks your dog.
