EDIT: Which trial is £15 off £250 spend. So only worthwhile if you're planning on purchasing something else which puts you over the threshold.

With £1 Which trial you'll get £15 off of the ticket price of £199.97.

Been on here before and got hot without the £15 off.

Yes it is - Place your order (over £250) and enter the £15 discount code when you get to the basket.

Probably TN panel

Thinking the same. Can anyone confirm this?

In the specs it states TN

Probably TN panel

TN is alright as long as you look straight on, if that's what you are going to be doing and have an AMD card this is a bargain.

60hz refresh rate for smoother viewing

TN also gives you the 1ms that gamers love so much at an affordable price

What's the refresh rate?

Maybe amend price in deal title too? Not only is the deal actually £199.97 (not everyone will want hassle of a Which code) but you can't even use the code on just this item.... Or am I missing something?

Without wanting to appear thick (yes, yes, I know), is there any reason I couldn't use this for console gaming? No built in sound is the only obvious thing to me, but if I'm using a headset that wouldn't be a problem, would it?

NB: "Your Mrs not letting you have two screens in the living room" is a valid, but unhelpful answer

Surely this is a spam post?? Can only get this if you spend another £50 on something else, so not this price at all....

hi, does anybody know and feel inclined to answer this question?
if this monitor were to be used solely as a photo viewer what would be the cheapest way to perform that task?

Deal not available at this price, should be listed at £199. For £20 more this is a better deal IMO. laptopsdirect.co.uk/ele…asp

Perhaps a cheap 4K Android box with expandable memory card slot, there must be loads of slideshow gallery apps available. Bear in mind, TN screens are not ideal for photo viewing due to the limited viewing angles.

probably an android Tv box that can do 4k or even a raspi or some sort of che-app tablet or shield or nuc or old digital camera with HDMI out or an old 2nd hand PC or brand new top of the line MAC...ymmv

I wouldn't waste my time with laptopsdirect. The offers they usually have that are too good to be true usually are. They'll phone you saying they're out of stock and the supplier can't supply any more, and they'll give you an alternative option or a refund. This is all after a week of holding your money.

Would this be any good with a gtx 970

This should be better than your normal TV for gaming as it has very fast response times. Also, if you're picking up an Xbox One X I think it can fully utilize AMD FreeSync (adaptive refresh rate).

It would be decent for PC Gaming (in terms or response times), colours and viewing angles will be alright and you won't be able to use over 60fps nor utilise FreeSync (as you're using an Nvdia card which has GSync) but overall it's good. Not all games would run smoothly at 4K with the 970 though.
