Cheapest 4k monitor I can find

Not awful reviews but not fantastic either. Would be good for xbox / playstation I imagine

  • 4K UHD Display to enhance all your content with life-like detail
  • 4K future-proof connections: 2 x HDMI (2.0) and 2 x Display ports
  • 1 x Display port and 1 x HDMI cable included
  • 1ms GTG / 5ms BTW and 60hz refresh rate for smoother viewing
  • Screen Size: 28 Inch
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Brightness (Typical): 300 cd/msup2
  • Contrast Ratio (Typical): 3000F1

A well priced 4K monitor, offering very well defined images at 60fps. For less then £200 you get alot for your money

Unfortunately the build design is very bad. You can't adjust the angle of the monitor.

People like you make me sigh. You can just turn up the scaling takes seconds, works great. If you haven't tried it or know how to use it don't advise others.
Every time I see this listed, I post my experience.

"I left a review of this monitor last time it was posted, you definitely get what you pay for. The build quality is sub par, very plasticy and flimsy, like even part of the plastic on the mount was shattered from shipping. The speakers are laughable not worth using at all, and even when disabled they let out an audible hiss. The panel is not so bad since most 4k monitors at 28" use the same one, but differences in back-light used can effect the image and this one is pretty poor, the colours look very washed out by default and requires some serious tuning to look acceptable, which you'd have to do in your graphics card settings as the settings on the monitor are lacking. My panel also had a group of dead pixels. I returned it immediately and bought an IPS 4k monitor from LG and am very happy with it well worth the extra I paid."

But what if you only need it for editing Video Footage?

Don't listen to him. 28 is okish for 4k. 32 is preferable.

Pros and cons please?
Tempted with this but its pretty much even on people recommending or saying its rubbish.

Found this;

Pros:

Very good picture quality
Good viewing angles (Better than I had expected)
Built in sound
Stand takes less than a minute to assemble and is really simple
Fantastic value for money.

Cons:

Basic looking thing, no bells and whistles
Cheap feeling plastic stand, but realistic for the price paid
In-built speakers well below par obviously

You can just return as unwanted within 14 days, you don’t have to give a reason.

Buy a cheap desktop or wall swivel versa arm mount. Problem solved.
If you just care about quality of the image for gaming etc and can put up with the cons of everything else it's ideal.

For me I just want the cheapest 4k monitor I can find. The poor sound output doesn't bother me as I use headphones anyway
Dnt ever buy 28" or less then 40" size monitor or tv if u Wana go for 4k.

28" is perfectly fine for 4k on a monitor...

But what if you only need it for editing Video Footage?

Technically for the best optimization, 24 for 1080, 27 for 1440 and 32 for 4k but yeah, doesn't make much difference
I've been tempted to buy this for a while. Must resist

Been using an AOC 4K monitor for about 18 months now. Once you go 4K, there's no way back especially for productivity. The ability to run four full HD windows on one glass pane shouldn't be underestimated.

Are you using an on-screen keyboard?

I use a 4K 28" monitor at work, scaling set to 125%, it's great to use and the text is fine (except in an unscaled VM, scaling is very important). That said I prefer things on the sharper side, 110dpi beats 96 imo.

Do me a favour, Google "What is screen scaling?" for me.

Why would a 4K monitor be any use to a console gamer?

Well if they had a PS4 pro or were planning on getting a One X ... why would it not be any use to a console gamer?

You'd need some sort of additional speaker system or decent headphones though I'd imagine...
Xbox One X supports 4k resolution.

So it's functionally a 28" 1080p monitor, but sharper? Eh. I don't like that, 28" is too big for a 1080p monitor, something like 22 or 23" is ideal for that imo.

lol ohh man ps4 pro supports 4k do you own one? xbox one x and ps4 pro both support 4k
Lol why does everyone always say "IT NEEDS TO BE 32" for 4K"

This is a monitor, not a TV - you're not going to run this at native resolution. The ideal size for 4k monitors is 22-24", and 5k at 27".

You don't mention if you need or would like Gsync or not.
The above is the only one with Gsync.

Need to check these out, g sync is certainly preferable but I'm not a crazy gamer so 4k, ips even at 60hz would do - just want to game and watch movies.

Thanks for your help

if you want to watch movies from an external source you will need HDCP and HDMI 2 for 4k etc. Be aware that the Acer will not be good for this.

Ok now I'm confused guess I'll just grab a quad hd instead of 4k if it makes life easier and I'll be paying less as there's more competition right
