Just bought this for my Xbox one X. Only negative being 12ms response time but, after some research a lot saying that is fine.

Update: it does not support freesync on HDMI. No good for Xbox one X so I’ve sent back and bought ASUS VP28UQG

Anyone if this is any good for the ps4 pro and xb1x? How does this compare to other monitors ?

12ms seems very high. a generic Acer monitor i have is only 5ms

I'd like to know too as I'm desperate for some thing under £500

Viewing angles?..

Have you done research into the difference between 5 and 12ms??

It’s an IPS so as long as your not sat behind it there won’t be a problem.

Hoping the experts will say yes. I was reluctant to get it for my Xbox one X but, after researching what response time actually is, 12ms will be fine.

i'm saying that for a 'gaming monitor' the quoted response time is very high when generic office monitors have faster pixel response times

dependent on the input lag, it may or not be an issue, but if you combine a 12ms response time with a large input lag, you might end up with some choppy gameplay

Original Poster

Fingers crossed. Anyway for me to find out the input lag or is there no way of knowing until testing the screen?

I suppose 12ms is not too bad but my main concern was output frequencies and how many hdmi connectors with 4k 60hz . Also , need to know if picture quality is good and if freesync is over hdmi (mainly for Xbox one x).

I was genuinely thinking of getting the samsung u32uh850 qdot monitor. But I've recently heard the freesync is not freesync 2 and therefore is no good for Xbox one x ?! Don't know how true that is.... Anyone with some info could shed some light on this?

hmmmmm don't need it but want it!!!!

I remember seeing this before and couldn't find any reviews/specs as it's clearly a rebadged job but what's the original korean/chinese model?

no info on freesync range for example

what worried me is not even on the electriq website so i was worried it was just wrong specs!

Is this hdmi 2.0 or not?

If not no point getting it for Xbox

Check debenhams plus. They had a spec sheet there. Sure it said hdmi 2.0 and dp 1.2 for 4k and dvi for 1080p. Freesync only on dp 1.2

It says download spec sheet here but link does not seem to be clickable on my phone but I got something on my desktop last night from either debenhams or laptops direct but sure it was debenhama. The other had a copy and paste 'get spec sheet here' with no link! Very professional! Hopefully we are buying raw value and none of the apple like marketing bump 'retina' etc... In the past people have worked out what brand panels they use on some cheap korean brands

HDMI 1x (v2.0)
Display Port 1x (v1.2)
DVI 1x (Only FHD @60Hz)

Panel Manufacturer AU Optronics
Panel Technology IPS

googling around suggests ACER use au optronics on their predator range

need to find out more about them. remember not finding much on freeview page of AMD last time

anandtech.com/sho…ync

according to amd website, only three monitors are 32" and 4k

acer has 35-60 hz via display port with a-hva
samsung has 40-60hz via displayport with PLS

and LG has 40-60hz with displayport and hdmi - but that would be the driver not the panel?

is ips same as pls and a-hva but just branding? maybe this acer has the same panel?

yep the acer is made by AU …yep the acer is made by AU optronicshttps://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/a212709though that has 6ms g2g... 43 ms input lag too! wtf!

Mine has come in his morning. Have a I made a mistake buying this for Xbox one X? Too things that aren’t clear which concern me are:
1. Is it freesync over hdmi
2. What’s the response rate and input lag going to be like?

As I’m not an expert with monitors I have no idea how to even check this! Suggestions? I’ll read the manual and see what it says.

Frame Matching Freesync (DP Only)

from the spec sheet

I don't know about xboxone as I'm a PC gamer - I didn't even know xboxone had freesync! But this monitor needs display port connection

I saw it on a YouTube presentation. The guy said it's not freesync 2 so it can't really benefit the Xbox one x? I was a bit confused about that.

Since you own the monitor- how well is it performing despite not having hdr? Does the brightness make the colours pop enough? I understand the brightness is 250/cdm2 and a lot of people say that's low.... but the qdot is supposed to help improve colour overall.

Any advise help would be appreciated. For the time being I'll only use it for ps4 pro and Xbox 1 x . Don't want to spend so much and be disappointed. Currently I game on the Asus mx279h (I think) ips 1080p - my only gripe with this set is , that it has noticeable light bleed !

It'll still pull 4k at 60hz for the Xbox over hdmi so can't imagine most people would actually notice it not having FreeSync 2.
Be interesting to see what it like though, would love a video review
Only current thing putting me off is the lack of reviews online for it and places that sell it.

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR XBOX ONE X!!! I’ve put a picture up of the specifications and it DOES NOT support freesync over HDMI, only display port. Therefore it’s just a large 4k screen! I’m sending it back and already bought ASUS VP28UQG

Have you tried it at least? If so what's the product quality, brightness uniformity, backlight bleed, colours?

I haven’t tried it as I am then ineligible for a refund. It hasn’t got freesync on hdmi so no good for me.

I am currently using this monitor for my Xbox (Not got the One X just yet) And think it is fine. Picture quality looks good. And there are a good amount of options for display settings. There is an FPS mode that really makes the colour pop. For console it does the job. Planing on getting the X One early next year. Would reccomend this monitor if you are looking for a budget 4K output. Freesync is not that important for me as i have never had a display (or a console) that uses it. Dont forget the games on consoles are optimised for that console so there is harldy any need for it. PC on the other hand. As there are so many different variables to the hardware and drivers, it is pretty much a necessity.

Where does HDR fit in with PC monitors? I can't see any mention of it here.

12ms is fine for consoles as it'll be better than any TV on the market. Especially the OLED stuff which is awful for gaming.

I wouldn't want to play anything competitive online on PC with a 12ms response time though.

I think you're confusing pixel response and input lag.

OLED pixel response times are far lower than any LCD. The early panels OLED panels had a high input lag, put that's largely fixed now I believe.

Not sure how I missed this. 32 inch, 4k, IPS, freesync? that ticks an awful lot of boxes for under £300.
Would it really be that bad for PC gaming? I did have the AOC on pre-order;

amazon.co.uk/AOC…HPQ

Has anyone else used ElectriQ before? They sound like a budget brand so no idea if this monitor will last?

I think the panel is au optronics which supplies other brands but I have yet to bite. Just googled matching panel sizes

Think the price might have gone up as well, showing 297.97.

Did anyone try the which? deal and did cancelling work? How quickly did the voucher arrive?
