sorted byYou can pick up the Asus pg348q for that price which would be a safer (and better looking) bet. (edited)
No dead pixels. Not as good as 4k for work of course...but you know what? It's darn good for £260.
People might be put off by the brand, but my experience has been pretty good so far. Great for gaming after a 60hz panel that my GPU couldn't drive (4k60). (edited)
"haven't passed qc" and "they're fine" are extremely contradictory. Quality control is there for a reason.
If true, basically what you're saying is you're pretty much guaranteed one or more of the following - dead pixels, backlight bleed and ghosting.
Backlight bleed is common on a huge number of panels, both cheap and expensive.
Theb electriq here has zero dead pixels. UFO test acceptable etc. Sure, sometimes it's luck - but that can be good luck and bad luck on any brand.
I'm not saying these are the best in the world by any means, but if they were selling with known faults they'd get in trouble pretty quickly.
Doesn't this comment undermine your original?
(I know what you're getting at however)
I'll bet this panel is a big brand one though. (edited)
where are you seeing the ASUS pg348q for this price?
Pretty sure Electriq source their panels from Samsung, but those panels are usually ones that haven't passed their QC, usually they're fine but some have dead pixels. That's also why LaptopsDirect offer a dead pixel check for £20 or so I think.
Loads of used ones on ebay.
Yes, not brand new but honestly it's a monitor. Unless it has dead pixels (in which case return) it doesn't really matter.
Not really, this is a cheap VA panel, won't look anything like a decent IPS.
I believe Samsung's QC is extremely strict so they do get rid of fully functional panels, and people are usually happy with their Electriq displays, however there are quite a few that have the aforementioned issues, hence my comment
Probably better than the return policy of a used monitor off ebay that's for sure
