I bought a electriQ widescreen gaming monitor about a year ago. Been nothing but impressed by it. Cannot fault mine.

Really. I've the 34" 2k version of this and it is sensational. My other monitor looks really poor in comparison

Had the Samsung version of this a couple of years ago. Nice screen size and very useful but 1080p was the only frustration. Later got the G9 (1440p). 👌🏼

Pretty much every review I've seen says they're fantastic for the price point

I got a Philips 498P9 for £750. It’s a 1440 one of these. I’d definitely spend the bit extra if you can.

Definitely recommend these sort of monitors though. Requires some screen space management software though. I use Microsoft Powertoys to create keyboard shortcuts that snap windows to certain areas

I believe that 49" is the equivalent of two 27" 16:9 screens. 1080p at that size is probably not enough. I think you either need to look for a 1440p resolution at this size or look for 1080p at 43" (equivalent to two 24" 16:9 screens).

These were £320ish the other day. I got the Dell version. 1080p was ok for some games like Witcher, golf, but awful on others like warships. My advice, don't buy this, go for 1440p

I've had no end of issue with mine, on prurchase it had a dead pixel and they refused to accept it for a return and offered a partial refund instead and now 7 months later it's flickering like crazy almost like the screen can't cope with the advertised refresh rate. Can't fault customer services but their returns department are shocking

I think this sounds like generalist

Have you actually had an ElectriQ monitor before?

1080p however is best avoided at this aspect ratio

Agreed. Bought the 34inch curved 144hz 1440p screen about a month ago. Have been decently impressed. Nothing amazing but definitely worth the £329 I paid for it. However, can't comment on long term use though.

    * You mean no you're talking out of your ?

Considering the actual panels are the same on many ElectriQ monitors as higher, much more expensive brands (granted with worse UI and stands/ build quality) you can snap a pretty good deal and still have the same overall experience.

In layman terms, they can be a good deal for those that can't afford high end offerings.

Going on tech forums doesn't make you a tech genius. Best leave it to the people who have actual experience with these monitors and more expensive offerings. They can make an educated opinion. Stop trashing all ElectriQ products for the sake of it and putting people off because you have second hand knowledge with no attributable source.

Curious - how does this work with games, for example? Does it need to support the aspect ratio, and does it need more processing power?

Second that, it amazes me how so called "experts" keep banging on about quality brands without having any clue what that " quality item" truly has inside I bet if at least half consumers would ever bothered to tear apart item then sudden reality would hit hard how much they been ripped off from their beloved "quality" brands. Same goes to TV sector and their fans Especially when Vestel comes to light
Personally I now find that less known brands are far more honest (and cheaper) about their products than trendy "quality" brands,. Consumer market needs to realise that often less known brands use same components but can charge far less due to smaller overhead upkeep cost (as example no marketing spend etc..). As prime example enough to look at mobile phone industry so many brands appeared and beaten well known oldies. If not this patent protection nonsense some brands would of been ages ago beaten up by competitors.
Another important point to note is "personal consumer NEED" each to their own, a lot of people still don't get that

My personal advice for those who doubt "just give a try, like it - happy days keep it, don't like it - return it" (just make sure free returns etc) then no regrets and own experience too (rather than some forum "snob expert" opinion)
edit: forgot to mention most blogers, forums, review sites are monetized so hardly ever you get true statements/opinions there. (edited)
