Exactly! Wouldn't purchase Korean electronics if I was paid or that was …Exactly! Wouldn't purchase Korean electronics if I was paid or that was the only option around ... seen some Samsung TVs and wasn't impressed by the picture quality. Sony all the way for TVs!

That's great, except Sony don't produce their own panels. They buy them from other companies... including LG and Samsung. In fact, all OLEDs contain LG panels, because they're the only company that makes them in TV sizes (Samsung make them for mobiles).

Cheap for an OLED...yes, would not class it as a low budget TV. Good luck finding a review of this TV. Uses a LG panel, android operating system. Personally I wouldn't touch it without seeing it or seeing some proper reviews
Thanks for sharing op....
Does anyone know if their failure rate has improved??

The last time I checked (a couple of years ago), it was dire; with multiple replacement failures as well as the original unit failing.

Oh, OK. Sounds similar to what goes on in other electonics.
I should've specified I was talking about 4K LED Sony, not their OLED. OLED is far too expensive at the mo.

Yeah, it'll be a while before you see "name brand" OLEDs at this price. Sony don't actually produce any type of panels any more though, so chances are that even if you own a Sony LCD TV it'll have a Korean or Chinese panel inside (though possibly a Sharp one if it's a bit older). LG, Samsung and AU Optronics are the three main players when it comes to producing panels for TVs and monitors. The vast majority of them use a panel from one of the three.

Interestingly Samsung did make one for a while, a 1080p OLED panel. They never made the leap to 4K. Apparently Sony also makes some in 15-30". Generally though you're right, while generic LCD TVs may chop and change panel suppliers from batch to batch there is no room to do that in the OLED world at the moment.
Generally, the quality/reliability of LCD/LED/OLED panels themselves is very good, it is all the secondary stuff that drives the panels that goes wrong; EQ have a reputation similar to Amstrad and Waltham in the 1970's when it comes to those parts.

As I said, unless they have improved in the last couple of years.
This panel is not made by a not very well known brand, but by LG.
This is cracking value have some heat.

Yeah but not like panel is only factor on the final quality of the TV. Sony LCD TV is widely consider the best of 2017 every virtually every reviewer. both price and performance
So buy a Sony then
I’ve not heard of this brand
Why's this going cold then?

I haven't voted. Would be good to have a demo of the TV. Android is usually pretty terrible. And I wonder what things they've put in place to prevent/reduce the chance of image retention/burn in.
