Yeah I bought one, if these are the same quality then I would struggle to see that they are worth this money TBH... not voted though cos its not clear how good they look, I guess you need to check them out first ...

yeah ive also seen these in various pound shops, no way this was ever worth 9.99 and even at 3.99 thats a big mark up.

Going off your name and avatar i would be worried about these.

pretty useless, they are too heavy to flick safely and quickly enough compared to a newspaper(or my favourite, a stiff piece of card/plastic to stun then follow up with a whack on the noggin to finish if needed.)

Best Pound ive ever spent. Great for catching flys. Everytime one starts to smoke I say "Frying tonight" But not in a Kenneth Williams style voice.

so dangerous! my 3 year old shocked herself on my mums which wasnt put away safely - I was not impressed!!

if u have no kids or pets tho im sure they will be a good job

what do you expect?

I will use this on my neighbours kids! HOT!!

These are great, we have had loads of fun through the summer. Paid the children 1p per fly zapped, on production of a smoking corpse. I don't think these are dangerous, not unless you are a fly and surely far better for your health than sprays.

madmoo, quite a lot of 'ordinary' house hold items 'could' prove to be dangerous to children and/or pets. It's the responsibility of the adult/owner to ensure these items are locked away ie household chemicals etc. You've identified the 'fault' in your post.... 'my mums which wasn't put away safely'

...Or maybe we should listen to Darwin and let nature takes it's course

WTP, I take your point and the design isn't helpful in protecting children. However, parents buy their children 'shops' (kids love them for some reason!), and 'items' to use in their shops. A young child will use anything as a toy/to play with. They have very inquiring minds. Babies put EVERYTHING into their mouths for a reason, they use their mouths to process information about the world around them, is it soft/hard, is it rough/smooth, is it sweet/bitter, do I feel it/is it part of me, etc etc. Young children don't see danger they simply see the world as a place to explore. It is up to adults to protect them from danger. But as I conceded earlier, the design isn't helpful with respect to these points. Indeed, I think a normal fly swat that incorporated the electronic part would serve better. I have the 'tennis racket' one (poundshop), and the 'rim' of the 'racket' doesn't allow you to get close to a fly. Something that could flex as well and electrocute would be better. Having said all that, by the time you find the flamin thing you could have rolled up a magazine and smacked the life out of the fly! The one we have has never seen the light of day for about 2 years. It's in the garage..... somewhere!!! :-D

the fault being that it was my mums house and im not resonsible for things being put away there, i was only stating as others have that it looks like a toy and they r dangerous, i have no real objection to the item only i wouldnt have one myself!

Shifting the blame on yer poor ol mum ........shame on you.........if she had left her pet crocodile waddling around in the hall instead of in the bath and it had ate yer kids it would have been all her fault hmm .........and the blame and shame just keeps on coming.......if she could only hear you now.....tsk........;-)

id be a bit concerned if there was a crocodile in my mums house! and if i knew the silly zapper was sitting out id have put it in its place, accidents happen - i just know those things hurt!!

Do not use on humans or animals
