Gelade?
I don't donate to charity oO

On an anime related note I seem to like the more old style titles like:-

NInja Scroll (movie)
Cyber City Odeo 808
Outlaw Star
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai 7
Wicked City
AD Police
Street Fighter II movie
Samura Champloo
Vampire Hunter D
Sword of the stranger

Wasn't a great fan of Ghost in the shell, what other anime titles might I like?

Trigun
Monster
Gungrave
Great Teacher Onizuka (personal favourite)
Evangelion
Akira

Thanks I will check them out.

I did like Trigun just not quite as much as the other series I mentioned.

I also forgot Guyver both series were great, but still think it could be redone (assume it was budget but animation quality went from excellent to rubbish).

Evangelion

This!

Also, hmmm let me think, what hasn't been mentioned.

Witchblade
Fullmetal Alchemist
Elfen Lied
Gurren Lagann

Gundam
Bleach
Darker than Black
Read or Die OVA
FLCL (good call)
Paprika
Tekkonkinkreet

Thanks I've have a lot to investigate!

I can't really explain even now what kind of anime I like, around 80% of it I just don't like especially one's with strong elments of humour or based around females (I'm not sexist!).

It's a shame that you don't like strong elements of humour because gintama is the best anime I've ever seen
I would advise against bleach though, a lot of fillers and turns out poor imo.
Btw, with evangelion you can wipe your mind of the last two episodes, just some friendly neighbourhood advice xD
It may be a nice idea to pick up the new films they're releasing, they changed a few things and just added nicer animation / artwork.

If you don't like lots of humour or female lead characters then from all the above you're pretty much left with: Gungrave, Akira, Tekkonkinkreet and Darker than Black. But even those still have elements of comedy, and girls.

Shame because you're missing out on some of the best anime around like Evangelion (girls, occasional comedy moments), Witchblade (female lead), Fullmetal Alchemist (plenty of comic relief), Elfen Lied (lots of women) etc.

I'm not too far into Bleach & as yet haven't come across any filler & what I have seen has been ace. Paranoia Agent has been good from what I've seen too. I would normally highly recommend Excel Saga, but it's full of humour & women.

Series 4 & 5 are all filler. To be fair it's not bad for filler, but it's not a patch on the proper stuff.

Forgetting bankai randomly is a good filler, that was so painfully drawn out

Have you seen the Naruto filler? Now that's bad filler.

I have Naruto to watch too - seems I have plenty of filler coming my way.....

Series 7-9 is filler, so it's easy just to skip straight to Shuppuden. Same with Bleach, you could easily skip series 4 and 5 and not miss a thing of the main storylines.

id have to highly recommend a set of anime i once picked up for a fiver new, its probs difficult to get hold of. its called salaryman kintaro. i bought it not expecting much(its subbed) but i ended up falling in love with it, it was a feel good anime thats for sure.

heat guy j i would also recommend, thats a cracking show. she the ultimate weapon is a bit girly but it is good if you can get over the whiney girl.

GITS SAC i can see why you dont like, if got both sets but they havent really grabbed me, took an age to watch the first series an it didnt really get any better imo.

yu-gi-h and beyblade are pretty child like but you cant get away from the fact they are actually pretty dam good. dbz is my all time fave anime. cant be beaten. bleach is also very good although i read that more so then watch.

id highly recommend deathnote, the manga was phenomenal an i assume the anime is too. escaflowne is fantastic also.

to top this all off i would highly recommend tokyo underground, you probably havent heard it but its allegedly made by the creators of naruto, and after the initial first few episodes its phenomenal, it makes you really care for the characters and the world under the outside world is a brilliant idea.

theres my input, hope you like, very tempted to buy the elemental gelade set cos i read the first 3 vols of the manga and rather liked it, not a touch on airgear though

WOW I need some time in my life to check all these out.

I find it close to impossible to describe what I like, maybe I was quick to say I didn't like humour as Outlaw Star, Cowboy bebop, Trigun and Samurai Champloo contain plenty of it.

OH I have seen Akira (started me liking managa from it's screening on C4) I was a little too young to fully understand it.

That's on my list for a re-watch too.

Oh and most of the anime I listed have strong women characters in them just I seem to find those where the main hero is male I tend to enjoy a lot more.

Naruto filler is just everywhere, at least it fits into the timeline and doesn't appear out of nowhere

If you're looking for any kind of laugh then I do recommend watching gintama (they're releasing dvds around now), I'm currently reading through the manga and laughing out loud so often.

Good anime, worth it at this price. bought the entire series in vol. order at £15 each which seems like ages ago now.
