This is a really cheap webcam, for £11.67 including delivery from China. 1080p full HD webcam with a 5 Megapixel camera, can't really complain. It means you don't have to have your laptop's built-in camera facing you all the time. Plus, you could wire it up to the telly.

One big thing to note is that this DOES NOT work with Apple operating systems. So if you have a MacBook, it is not compatible.

Features
  • The audio acquisition is supported.
  • Standard UVC / UVA protocol, drive free, plug and play.
  • Support Windows / Android / Linux system.

I think some of us got taken in by the initial promotion price which was not that low after all. I know I did, but stocks of webcams seemed short at the time. Maybe stock is piling up now. Haven't installed mine yet.

To watch out for: Some autofocus issues depending on your PC software, and apparently the inbuilt microphone is only usable via an old fashioned 3.5mm socket 3 pole cable to PC (not compatible with many modern laptops audio sockets).

I've downgraded my opinion of Geekbuying based on the experience - they could easily have made the old audio technology aspect clear in their listing.

Bought the camera the last time this was hot. Took a couple of weeks to deliver but have been impressed with result for price. Clarity is good for work meetings. Very happy.
Took delivery of this after last deal posted. Nothing but regret, no better than the built in laptop camera, and the 3.5mm audio jack was an unwelcome surprise. Also got stuck with customs charges and handling fee of 12-13 quid.

Unless you really want a disappointing webcam, avoid.

Good to know! They look pretty cool.
Great price for full hd
Ordered, cheers.
Thanks OP, have been wanting a cam to try with the Nvidia Shield - this may or may not work but it's worth a shot at that price, if not it's probably still better than my laptop cam so sure to come in handy sometime.

No worries.
It'd be worthwhile having a read of the original HUKD thread on this webcam. As well as a USB connection there's also an additional 3.5mm jack for microphone/speaker that some may find unworkable.

BTW got mine delivered last week and seems pretty good value for the money

Where do you add the code? Can’t seem to find anywhere
Word of warning on this... If you need a webcam in less than a month, then look elsewhere.

I ordered this same camera from Geekbuying on 30th May when it was last on HUKD. It got dispatched on 19th June and still hasn’t arrived yet...

Last week I gave up and just bought a £30 webcam from Amazon Prime. I guess I’ll (eventually) have a spare

You have to go to checkout, I tried to click PayPal & it didn't have a space to enter

Second page of checkout I think it was, near the bottom. Don't select Paypal checkout at the first time of asking (you still get the oportunity to pay by paypal at the end).
Many thanks :

The annoying thing about Chinese reseller sites is that the delivery doesn't specify whether the delivery timescales are in working days. If so, then it will take much longer than you think, sadly.

can anyone tell if the quality is really 1080?
Pay in USD with a fee free card and it's slightly cheaper than posted
Akira_Cat30/06/2020 16:56

@Jonathan_Vroobel can you clarify?

I say if the camera quality is real 1080p or equivalent to 720p like other Chinese cameras.
Akira_Cat30/06/2020 16:56

@Jonathan_Vroobel can you clarify?

Yep, recording is 2.1MP at 1080p with 16:9 aspect ratio.

Camera can do 4:3 photos and video at 2592x1944 which is the 5MP quoted on the marketing.
All good branded webcams are still hard to get, especially at normal price. I'll wait for a decent one at rrp, well work will anyhow.

Additionally, all the reviews are glowing and the alleged buyers seem to have found nirvana with this webcam, but nobody mentions the poor way the cable is attached nor the 3.5mm audio jack.
They cannot all be fake reviews can't they?
Hmmm, 3.5mm audio connector. Buyer’s remorse setting in already.

I have a Lenovo laptop with built in mic.

Only need to connect this webcam via USB and sound from other party comes out of the speakers on laptop and other party can hear me. No need to plug in 3.5mm jack in my experience.

It’s £11 for a 1080p webcam. What more do you want?

Mine is for a PC with no built-in mic
Yep, still waiting for mine too; must be over 3 weeks now.
Does anyone know if this is compatible with an Xbox one?

I also got hit with £12 import duties. My setting don’t seem to go above 720p, but on the positive I did get it working on the 2014 Mac mini. PS i had to plug in the 3.5mm microphone jack into the headphone socked (via a splitter) to get it to work. No audio via USB only. So best part of £30, fair value at best.
I have this and its good. But the auto focus is a nightmare. It seems to get pretty hot, the. Then focus is just hopeless. Using on xbox one for streaming and keep getting told "camera is out of focus" sooo fun
Staylor8130/06/2020 19:55

It didn't work plugged In directly but plugged It into a hub and worked fine. No idea why auto focus issues as stated in my other post tho...
Hmm I'm holding out for probably a Logitech C920 deal or something decent, I'm assuming this albeit probably a fifth of the price I can get the C920 doesn't really compare ? :P
Will this work with an XBOX one?

It was not £11 earlier, on one hand, and a correct description would kinda be nice, regardless.
Received mine last week, and with my laptop (2017ish XPS) the autofocus is terrible. Extremely slow to adjust, and was mostly unable to focus on me throughout 30 minutes of testing (nothing at all moving in the background). So unfortunately useless in my case.
