Ships after 10/8/15 and expect this from everywhere because of the amount of preorders, i would order direct from Elephone as they have had stock since the 20/7/15 and you stand a better chance of getting shipped early. Up to now my experience of focalprice has been terrible id advise ordering from elsewhere.

direct links on focal price aren't working, here's a search for the elephone P8000, showing results for the three colours. 'yellow' is more of a gold

will it arrive and will it work as claimed?

Ive had a preorder for a month and the contact ive had from focalprice is unbelievable, i asked when it would ship yesterday and their reply was do i want to cancel, they are **** idiots and i regret ordering from them. I also choose express shipping which means i will get stung for import tax. Its instock the 25th but that's a Saturday and theirs noway it will ship till Monday at the earliest and because of the amount of preorders it could be 2 weeks+.

Just to let people know that most places if not all will not ship new orders until at least the 10/8/15.

OP your title is incorrect, theirs no way it will ship in 3 days its said that since the 2/7/15 and preorders will be filled before new orders it will be weeks from what ive read before new orders are shipped.

have removed ships in 3 days. it was advertised on their site, didn't know it had been that way for some time

if u havent bought this already i would advise u to buy it great phone better than an s4

If you want something with similar specs, that's actually available now.... I'd suggest the Jiayu S3 3gb (Advanced).

How do you know? It's not even out yet.

Should be OK for trunk calls

No GPS.....

I tried to cancel my order on the 22nd with focalprice - i was told on the 23rd that i couldn't because it's been passed to the courier for delivery. Most places didn't have the phone to send out then as it's not meant to be released until the 25th. I smell a rat so I've escalated it to paypal to sort it.

Tempting

Is there anything that comes close spec wise or is this the phone to get

He may mean the issue that *certain* mediatek Chinese phones have with gps.
I got shouted down when I mentioned it a while back.
This phone may be OK mind you?

First time I dealt with this company it was baaaaaad.

I then got tempted by a deal and bought a second time.

Never again. No comms. Lost order. Lost in post. Never ending problems. Stopped all comms had to go on Facebook to worry them into replying. But never got my phone. Gave up in despair. Stay clear or pay the price

China phones are cheap because they rush them into production to cut development costs, so although this probably is a good phone don't expect all the specs to be correct and everthing working.
Better to wait for an independant review on YouTube to see if it has a decent battery, camera,GPS ect.
Easier to order a different one than have to send it back.

I think that most of the problems with MTK chips and GPS have been resolved; this is certainly advertised with GPS in the specs.

I have just got a K3 Note and tested the GPS/navigation with "Here" (off line maps, Nokia maps previously) and everything went perfectly with first fix in about 10 seconds.

This is cheaper than my pre-order with voucher through gearbest. I've just emailed and cancelled it off. I'm waiting for this now to go sub £100

It can be had from TO2C for $170 as well for next 3 days- they ship via NL post (no taxes...) and my last package arrived within 10 days of placing the order (but they did have stock).

I've ordered from Gearbest, slightly more expensive but Gearbest has good reviews.

Some people on the other thread have said their order has been shipped but I also smell a rat with FocalPrice. I've read some reviews on some of these sites (not FocalPrice) that post fake DHL tracking numbers and send via regular mail. I've a feeling they are jumping the gun on shipping to gain a few extra sales (people will buy from Focalprice if they think they are shipping).

I think the actual device will arrive soon with distributers, some of the more trustworthy sites like Gearbest increased the price of the phone and removed the pre release price. That's why I think we'll soon have the phone.

Gearbest is def worth paying the extra.... Much better company.

has anyone actually received one of these and does it work as specd ?
I only ask as this could be a hell of a scam and thousands of people could be parting with £100+ and never receiving anything !

You'd have to be an absolute fool to pre-order Chinese phones IMO (or any phone in general). I remember the debacle with the Umi Zero which I very nearly pre-ordered.. People were waiting months after 'launch' to receive it and it turned out Umi had barely even started production when the 'release date' came and went. I also remember them releasing images of the phones being made in the factory just to assure people it wasn't a scam. THEN after waiting all that time, it turned out the phones were poorly made with very poor batteries... users reporting all sorts of faults and battery lives of an hour after a few months.

You need to wait til the phones are properly benchmarked and dissected. Not just watching a video of some Chinese person quickly swiping through the features, more than likely they have a pre-production version that's had extra effort and possibly better parts used to build it.

But lets be honest here, this isn't just a problem that only plagues 'cheap' Chinese brands. Sony often push phones out of the door that initially have big problems... my Xperia S had yellow banding all over the screen as it heated up, and dust/lint gradually kept building up as the weeks went on. Then you've got all the problems iPhones have had at launch.

Actually, thinking about it, the best/most reliable phone I've ever had was the ZTE Blade San Francisco. Probably one of the first 'cheap' Chinese phones to be a big hit in the West. It was an absolute beast in terms of modding and it took all sorts of punishment and still had barely a blemish a year or two after having it!

The phone isn't even with distributers atm so the only reviews are for a chosen few on Youtube. The specs of the phone are amazing for the price. Elephone were having to tweak the ROM afaik and why the delay but I think it will be shipped any day soon. For this reason I also think the phone may be buggy when it arrives but there seems to be a decent userbase for this phone and custom ROMs will fix things.

Its not a scam but the wait is frustrating.

The rear camera sensor on the P8000 is in fact a 13MP Samsung 3L2 and not the Sony IMX214 quoted.
This may be significant for some people.

I think that SG Post passes it on the NL post, but it can take forever to reach them in the first place.

Does this have QI wireless charging? Can't see anything in the specs about it so I'm guessing not, but you'd think they'd throw it in seeing as it's jam packed with everything else.

Your feelings are wrong.

My Focalprice P8000 has shipped and the reason I don't smell a rat is because previous phones from them have been sent to me absolutely fine. This is from someone who has actually used them previously and not just listening to rumours and gossip.

As for your comments on being buggy - you are basing this on them tweaking a ROM so you think it will arrive buggy? Step away from the keyboard.

I just chose free shipping, can't remember what else was available.

A very good phone for the price (Heat added). But since I have the 1+1 I will be waiting to upgrade to this or 1+2:

elephonestore.com/ele…tml

Mediatek Helio X10 Turbo @ 2.2Ghz Octa Core (MT 6795T)
Android 5.0 OS
2K Screen with 2560*1440 Gorilla Glass,Screen PPI up to 534
RAM 4GB and ROM 32GB
Sony IMX 230 21.0M HD Back Camera and 8.0M Front Camera
Support NFC and Touch ID

For around £195, If this is cheaper than the 1+2 by £100 then I will get this

so this vs P8000:

+ 2k screen
+ New Mediatek Helio Processor
+ 4GB Ram (LDDR4!)
+ 32 Rom (And TF Expansion up to 128GB)
+ Latest Sony IMX 230 camera 20.1 MP back and 8MP Front

- Slightly smaller batter at 3850 (but still big!)

For extra £85? what do you think (may be cheaper on aliexpress when it's released)

I did say I never seen this on Focal Price reviews and yes I'm assuming a lot of things without any evience.

I just don't think Focal Price have these phones yet but I do think they are en-route. Gearbest, Dealextreme and one other site that got decent reviews on Trustpilot have either removed the phone from sale or increased it's price. In either case they are not selling it as a pre release nor are they shipping them. I just feel FocalPrice are selling these as shipped so people will buy from them. I still think we'll receive our phones at the same time.

My buggy is in relation to Elephone holding back to tweak the ROM. This is a brand new product, I'm sure there will be some problems that will need to be fixed. Even I-Phones aren't shipped perfect when released and they cost 6x as much.

I used focalprice for my P7000, I was the first person on HDUK to receive the P7000. I chose the express delivery, came in 7 days via France then DPD - I did however pay the customs charges which is seems to be a consequence of selecting express courier delivery.
