Great specs, and a lot of phone for the money - cheaper than the LG G4 (but supplied via Hong Kong). Do I get this or wait til the P9000 edge is released...?

just read that it was compared to the galaxy note at double the price and pretty much matched it. im always a bit dubious about buying unknown chinese brands. admittedly the specs look impressive but not sure how much support there is nor reliability, incase something goes wrong with the hardware. Its a gamble but it does look a decent phablet.
Looks like all LTE bands supported but it's difficult to choose this over the mx4 pro for £50 less

The 32gb MX4 Pro is around £274, has less ram and KitKat.

Support is pretty non-existent. There is a forum which is mainly filled with people complaining about things wrong with the ROMs on each phone.

Having said that, for all its minor issues I have an Elephone M2 and it's well built, solid and quick.

If you're interested in chinese phones I'd suggest youtube reviews from a decent reviewer, such as s7yler
I have ordered P8000 they didn't deliver for 6 months. I had to cancel and open dispute with Paypal.
They have been having this pre-sale for the last 6 months not released yet.
They have done a crowd funding of $5 for $50 the code doesn't work in any stores currently.
Google the item before ordering

Thanks for the comment. I normally upgrade my phone every 2 years but this time ive decided to keep my existing mobile and get a 12m sim only deal. When that runs out ill probably go back to a monthly deal with a new phone because at the end of the day if something goes wrong with your mobile then you can just take it back to your store for repair or in my experience a replacement due to hardware fault. With a chinese phone your pretty much stuck with the issue and resell value will be none existant due to the fact its an unknown brand. At least with an iphone,or galaxy phone you will get some sort of financial return if you decide to change your mobile
p8000 is a joke, was pretty ordered, months after still nothing. I'm happy I didn't get it as people who did had several quality issues and failing parts such as camera and battery issues. Google before ordering this brand.
My son ordered a P8000 from here..velephonestore.com/ for around £130...around 3mths ago.
Arrived within a fortnight from China and has been faultless since.
Might order myself a P9000 from there
the original spec of this device was very impressive (21mp, 4000mah) but changes were made after the crowdfund thing closed. Still looks like a good device. I have a discount code but still undecided.

I would buy a discount code from any one if possible
I ordered a P8000 around launch last year and received prompt delivery - I have got nothing but praise for the phone. The battery life is outstanding, it isn't laggy in anyway, the camera is more than adequate and the phone is excellent value for the price I paid. I wouldn't hesitate to get another Elephone
I ordered 2 P8000 phones at £110 each and yes the Elephone support and forum are at best mediocre. I installed the Eragon rom (independently developed and supported) and these are now without doubt the best phones I have ever owned. If you are willing to search around, tinker yourself and want a high spec phone for 1/2 the price of the well known brands then real bargains do exist. Not sure about the P9000 but the P8000 is a bargain phone if you ditch the stock rom.
This phone any good?

Where did you buy yours from? Just curious as I'm thinking of getting one. Also was it easy to flash your phone?
£190 + chance of import duty and Royal Mail charge. Becomes faulty and costs close to £100 to return tracked and insured), could be months before you get it back. If at all.

Bought a couple of items from the Chinese sites, but only low cost stuff, wouldn't dream of risking so much.

Great specs, but.....

I ordered both my P8000's from Focalprice, arrived quickly and no extra import duties etc. Flashing via PC is not so easy especially if running windows 10. However you can flash a new recovery image from inside android (I use Flashify and Philz recovery) and then reboot to recovery and use that to flash Eragon without having to use a pc or cable.
I was going to pre order the p7000 bit missed out on the opening deal, and I'm glad I did. I heard a few positive comments bit an awful lot of complaints about some very basic stuff.
In the end I bought a used Samsung Note 3 to replace my S3 and I'm glad I did! I managed to sell the LTE S3 for about £90 and the Note only cost me £150. I know that if I keep it in reasonable condition there'll be a resale value for it.
I can't see there being a market for random 2 year old Chinese phones stuck add this in 2 years unless this phone turns out to be astounding. When they're around £100 then it's pretty much disposable but closer to £200....

Had the P7000 since launch early June, never had any major issues other than the red tinge in the centre of some photos. My previous phones were an LG G2 and an Honor 6, both excellent phones. P7000 was an excellent upgrade, screen is excellent, battery it's an easy 2 days, and it's very smooth and quick to use.
I tried to get the crowd funding $50 discount voucher for the P9000 but the elephone website wouldn't work properly so I gave up.
P7000 has had 4 or 5 OTA updates to sort some of the issues, but it's still on android 5.0 and likey to stay there - but doesn't bother me that much, it does everything I need, and all for $149 : )
Might look at the P9000 again one prices drop and reviews start to appear.
I'd agree their support isn't that good, but add long as you're aware of this and the price is cheap enough to take a bit of a gamble.

X20 chip anyone? Elephone Vowney anyone?
The trouble these days is people want to have their cake and eat it, whilst nicking someone else's cake at the same time. You pay your money, you take your chance. Elephone website full of poor English (and I don't just mean the whiners who are clogging up the page with their complaints of waiting 2 months for a phone!) and so you have to ask yourself: Can you trust a company with exceptionally bad, but funny, grammar issues. Let's face it, if you were picking up a product from an unknown company that's 4,000 miles away offering you things too good to be true in bad English, then you might be worried. Good job there's PayPal then, in'it? What the hrll, - for the money it'll be fun and probably worth it for the funny grammar mistakes alone. Let's face it: Whiners wanting a phone yesterday with bells on are going to bitch about it endlessly. Those who have had an excellent product, etc, are hardly likely to jump up and down on the web page and forums are they?
heat added BTW. why the heck not..x

I'd content yourself with being one of the lucky ones. Personally, I'm glad I skipped - the Note 3 is a beast of a phone that's initially cost me more but if I keep hold of it, I'll make that money back and then some with resale. Each to their own. Neither option (random Chinese vs. used) will ever appeal to the masses as things stand but for those of use prepared to take a risk...

Give me a 2k screen and a Exynos processor over an extra gig of RAM and 16GB storage any day. Consider that the 16GB MX4 is around £140 from a considerably more reputable manufacturer you'll understand why this deal is so icy brrrrrrr.
I'm delighted with my P8000 - I had initial problems with not recognising my Virgin Simcard which were solved by installing the Eragon rom.

Build quality and battery life are excellent.

Apparently the Helio processor is slightly better, but probably not much. According to notebookcheck : Graphics is provided by dual-core, also 64-bit, Mali-T860 MP2 GPU, working at 700 MHz. It offers up to 45 percent better performance than its predecessor, Mali-T628 (the one that the MX4 pro has) ..

However, the Elephone also has a removable battery and expandable memory (up to 256 gb).

The reason it's cold is the seller, which is fair enough. I think that'll change when they get decent reviews and you'll be able to get them from a European distributor.

By the way the price now seems to be £177 - probably the currency volatility caused by the markets taking effect.

Knew this deal would be too risky for some, but it really is a decent specced phone for the money.

It's not about benchmark performance, its about mediatek real world performance which in my experience is poor, it's also worth noting that devices with mediatek processors often do not get updates do to them not releasing the source code.

I have an original non flashed P8000, yep still works, but would like to flash and up date, can you post links on how to do it ..PLEASE :-) I tried to follow Elephone instructions.. got stuck with some Chinese bits, it is a great phone.
The P9000 is a brilliant phone for its price and well worth buying. You,s talk about Chinese phone as if they are all crap but that's not true, there's xiamo, huwaie,Redmond and a few others, as for the mediatek CPU,s OK they may not be as good as an exyos or a snapdragon etc but it MORE than does the job.So there's plenty of ppl out there who would buy P9000 if they knew about them!
