Interested, but looking forward to the opinions of the usual knowledgable members of the HUKD community!

Had a P7000 for 18 months, liked the phone but the company are hopeless and I won't buy another phone from them till they take their customers seriously - missed deadlines (launches and updates P9000 ) new models not launched (R9 ?).

Moved on to an Xiaomi Mi Max, league above Elephone in terms of the company, the phone and the support.

Why would you need a deca core phone?

Prefer Apple me

Hi. How does Xiaomi Mi Max perform on UK network? (which network are you using?) thank you.

samsung me by a mile theres seems to be a lot of these chinese phones.yes theres specs are great.but ill stick to getting my phones from the uk with regular updates.i wouldnt buy one of these handsets or xiaomi and other brands on here at any cost.please people posting these.get over these brands and stop posting them

Edited by: "ihatebingo" 5th Feb

They do make some very attractive and feature rich phones however their support is poor, if like me you got the P9000 which performed well until a couplyof months down line when issues started to arise and then to find out they were common issues which remained unfixed.

They seem to be manufacturing a large range of phones without putting the support in afterwards, so cold for me.

On BT (EE), works very well, 4g is excellent.

There's two redmi note 3 and a mi max 652 here and all are running well and liked by us. All on 3 so not missing band 20 though daughters rn3 is the SE so may be more beneficial for foreign holiday use.
Can't see me going back to Samsung etc.

This will perform very well, Helio X25 is a good chip and 4gb of ram is more than enough.

What would prevent me from buying one would be poor camera, slightly stingy battery life and plastic construction.

Pre ordered in Nov. Arrived 3 weeks ago.

Overall verdict is SO FAR SO GOOD

Very high spec. Far more than required if I'm honest.

A bit on the heavy side but a very crisp screen.

Camera won't win awards but its fine.

Battery is solid. I'm not as obsessed with keeping it on charge as with previous phones.

Paid £168 for it

Elephone are one of the worst Chinese brands and do nothing to help put the genuine good Chinese brands in a good light. Stick with xiaomi, letv, zuk, one plus and oppo. Regular updates and better build quality from the guys I have mentioned and you won't buy any overpriced apple junk or Samsung again.

Hi, I have been interested in a One Plus. Which one can i buy with these specs and in this price range? Thanks in advance.

Heat added Louise. I have looked at these a few times but the 5.5" throws me off

Must admit I'm not that well informed on Chinese phones, if I was in the market for one I'd probably go for a Xiaomi (though the ZTE Nubia I posted a few days ago was a cracker for the price, bought for my sister, my first bona fide Chinese phone purchase).

Elephone, like Huawei and ZTE, (I assume) are trying to up their game, though I can see a Youtube upload where someone's commenting on an OTA update fixing major bugs (gulp) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6Pcf6HZ0bE

and on xda someone mentions the GPS is poor https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-s7/how-to/elephone-s7-treasure-edition-helio-x25-t3522700

vaskovass says "I pre-purchased the x20 Gold Version when the pre-purchase option on elephone.hk became available. There was a significant delay, so I had to wait for about 2 months, however when my phone arrived I noticed that they have sent me the X25 version. Have the phone for a week, and I can say I am super happy with it - design, performance, screen are excellent. The fingerprint sensor is OK, however I think it worked better before the 09.01 OTA update. I am just extremely dissapointed by the very very poor GPS..."

Personally I wouldn't buy even the most premium phone from Gearbest. Money down the drain if you ever have a problem.

p8000 here, + custom ROM = amazing , even after 13months

I'd have no issue with buying Chinese (aren't they all made there?), I just wish they had better cameras. It's the only reason I went back for a Sony, I wanted a decent camera and 5" or below. I've purchased several phones for other people though, and gotta say you soon realise how much extra you pay in the UK for a known brand! Plus it's harder to get dual sim phones here.

Well Samsung and LG are South Korean and HTC is Taiwanese. So nope.

And that's another issue I forgot to mention. Once the defects start to materialise, the lack of customer support from Elephone leaves you with no option but to turn to Gearbest.

They will, after some reluctantancy, ask you to send it back to China at your expense with the caveat that you must not use expedite shipping. This is because they know, as is the same in the UK, the parcel will be stopped at customs and duty levied which they will have to pay. They will endeavour to repair the device or if your unlucky, offer you some form if credit on your account; all of which can take months.

All 3 have manufacturing facilities in China, although Samsung concentrates mainly on Taiwan. Where a country has its headquarters does not really effect where it's production is carried out.

Note to self - avoid Elephone! Thanks for the feedback all. Looking forward to the ZTE Nubia Z7 Max arriving.

Lovely looking phone but i could never spend that much money on a phone with such a terrible camera.
