Use code ELEUPRO to get this price.

Gets a pretty decent write up in this artice but as with any Chinese pre-order I guess your mileage may vary.

I've had a couple of Elephone devices in the past, they've been so-so but this one is interesting with the Snapdragon 660 CPU and things like NFC/OLED screen/Wireless charging which Chinese phones usually don't have.

Does have Band 20 too And dual SIM with a dedicated micro SD slot

But yeah, it does seem to be a little expensive for an import phone that's not made by one of the big boys...

Monster price for some kind of ule-ole-phone ..And alot risk
And the cost of import duty is stopped by customs?
Specs may be great.

Unfortunately if it goes wrong - like my Elephone S7 from Gearbest did, then they really screw you over.

Paid £168 for it Nov 2016. Started playing up within 4-5 months. Eventually had to post it back & settle for £80 refund.

You'd have to be mad to spend that much with them....or.just too loaded to care!

Yeah I definitely get what you're saying on that and have had some issues with imported phone before - but I don't smoke, rarely drink etc so I'm allowed one vice, and that's import phones! To be honest I've taken the risk with a Xiaomi Mi 6 before which was probably similarly priced, but to an extent you know where you are with a Xiaomi and they tend to be very reliable.

Elephone look like they are trying to step up with this phone, but I can understand why people would be reluctant to spend so much on a 'non brand' device like this.

No madness required assuming direct payment to merchant via consumer credit card to benefit from a UK-based S75 resolution option, as will apply to OP deal.

Credit card said it was over 4 months so nothing they could do
Elephone’s are brilliant and I’ve had a few (and some of their Gopro type Cameras) but when they go wrong gearbest don’t want to know.

Not worth the risk in case it goes wrong after 5 or 6 months.

I hope you kept the correspondance that stated that restriction. Gearbest offer "one year repair warranty" gearbest.com/abo…tml which the UK credit card co inherits whether they like it or not.

No. I binned everything when they gave partial refund

I would say this is gearbest refund policy. Offer you back half what you paid in the Hope you settle. Rather than send it back. Had this a few times with them thankfully on low priced items

They actually asked me to return. Once they got it & said we cant repair, they then offered me £20, then £50 & finally £80

Do not go near anything that Elephone produces, ever. The actual product will be far from spec, you won't get a refund and there will be zero updates for the device.
I would rather get the mi note 3 for less than this, 128gb is around 260 and 64gb is around 230 which similar specs and less money. Of course you lose sd card, oled 18 : 9 but the Xiaomi is probably better in terms of camera and software support and it's a better brand so probably better reliability.
or get a Maze Alpha X, available form Amazon so no messing with gearbest, yes it has a Helio P25 CPU but it's not a bad SoC actually. Still has 6Gb Ram and has a better battery life...

Doesn't really matter that you have no records, the credit card co will have history of your S75 claim / intention that they (apparently incorrectly) declined. Ask the CCC to resurrect the claim. If the CCC suggests it cannot find your claim, hit the CCC with a Subject Access Request ( ico.org.uk/for…on/ ). When your claim has been resurrected, show them the Gearbest warranty page; tell them you have suffered loss as a result of their incorrect dismissal of your fair S75 claim and invite the CCC to make a compensatory offer.
