How's that lossless 1080p60 capture working out for you then.....?

Heat added.

Wow! You can record in 1080p! Unless you're on the Xbox One in which you'll be recording in 900p or an even lower resolution.

Maybe, but not everyone. Most videophiles know of Elgato and know it's leagues ahead of the bog-standard capture you get in the consoles. Enthusiasts who watch streams on Digital Foundry, SDA, Twitch, Evo, etc. would prefer to watch 1080p60 at the very minimum (even higher res for stuff like DOTA2, LoL, SC2).

Not to mention media outlets who need to capture high quality feeds for production.

There built in

@jennings9 It's like a tidal wave of ignorance.

This is a great device. Currently use it for all home consoles (except ps4 -_-) to get videos for my youtube channel. The device is easy to install and the software is easy to set up and use

Could somebody please tell me, whilst you are recording your gameplay does the capture card have to be connected to the computer and the computer switched on? I'm asking as I won't buy it if that is the case, as I don't want the laptop on sat next to my xbox 360 every time I want to record. Thanks

yes you have to have it connected to pc/laptop and they must be on top record. The only capture cards that allow what you want are the avermedia devices.

The Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket will do what you want.

Sorry, got one of these for £90 brand new and also saw one in Game prepared at £60

If the PS4 video capture was usable it would be great. The capture is there but the functionality is shocking, and only sharing to Facebook !?

It's long winded but I wanted to get my Strider gameplay on YouTube. Had to have PS4 upload to Facebook, download the hd video and then upload to YouTube.

Does this record headset audio at the same time as game video and audio?

Why do you want to record yourself playing a game?
And who do you think wants to watch it?

Nice, as soon as amazon price match I'm buying

Why do trolls exist?
and who cares?

Does anyone know if this will record the PS4 and XboxOne as is or do you need a HDMI splitter to bypass the encrypted signal due to blu-ray? I've managed to record some PS4 footage but it needed the above mentioned splitter when using my HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition. Would prefer to use without splitter if possible.

Try answering my question. I'm not trolling, I'm genuinely asking who you think is going to watch this.

This post is Troll bait anyway. OP could have just put ideal for next gen consoles, or ideal for consoles? Heat added anyway

Anyone know if this would work using mhl from a phone? I think we had difficulty doing this on or card at work, but I'd be handy for making ads for apps.

Walkthrough videos, game reviews, ESports competitive matches etc.

Check out TotalBiscuits YouTube channel and you will see that there are plenty off people who will watch gameplay footage:

youtube.com/use…but

TotalBiscuit currently has 1,551,098 subscribers that want to watch him "playing a game".

1,551,098 sad little lives. Such a shame.

Does this record headset audio at the same time as game video and audio?

It records the video/audio sent over the HDMI cable. If you're on the x360 you can set voice to output throught both speakers and headset, which allows the PVR to record your friends voices but it can't record your own voice.
There are ways around this which basically involve having your mic output connected to the recording PC and the xbox controller at the same time. the Elgato software can capture the mic input via the PC & the PVR input into one stream. Many of wired Turtle beach headset have both the 2.5mm connecter and 3.5 PC jack (or USB mic - not just power) that allow them to be plugged into both xbox & PC at the same time.

Really?

Where did you get those stats?

Game streaming is big money, millionaires are made from streaming and winning gaming competitions.
Twitch.tv is a prime example of people watching people play games...its a good way to learn how to improve your own ability

What would you get if you wanted to record games you play on your PC without stressing it out? Another PC and one of these? xD

I currently do this and connect to the same machine I play on. It barely touches the frame rates. I used to use a separate laptop for recording, but then I changed to the pc I play on and it copes very well.

Intel 2500k (stock)
Nvidia 670

great item one best gadgets i have ever bought ,so easy simple and great qualit::D

You might get your answer if you ask PewDiePie or one of his 23.5 million subscribers. I'm pretty sure he's the biggest YouTube channel by a mile. youtube.com/cha…5Yw

If possible record to a separate hard drive too.

you don't really need another device like this for PC recording, a good graphics card will do the trick depending on what resolution you want to record on. Fraps is quite CPU hungry, there was another, think its called Action!.

It makes me quite angry and sad for the world that he gets that kind of massive audience from no effort and being an offensive screaming **** when people who actually have talent and are entertaining don't even get a fraction of the audience.

Great 'official' price but as always things like these can be bought for cheaper on ebay if you do a smidgen of digging.
