One for VR heads. Don't know much about it but it seems to be popular

VR Game

Its not a VR only game, in many ways its better on a normal screen.

Very good price, not seen it this cheap for a while. I play a lot of this but I’d seriously recommend getting the Horizons season pass; there’s a lot more content to be had. Customise your commander, land on planets, take a buggy round them etc.

EDIT: can’t spell

Poor plants. What have they ever done to hurt anyone.

Waiting for Star Citizen 3.0 myself ( aren’t we all!!)

Once you let the VR genie out of the bottle with this game you can't go back, i can no longer play this outside VR because i am now so accustomed to having the ships menu's appear when i look at them, same this with Euro and American truck simulator...i don't know if that is a good or bad thing. lol

bought it last time it was cheap. went straight into vr, it's impressive but so confusing. spent 30 minutes going warp speed trying to jump out of warp at exactly the right time and blowing up my engines having the game tell me I did it wrong and had to try again. Then spent 10 minutes trying to land the damn thing. 10/10

Elite: Dangerous has a pretty steep learning curve; practically vertical. This is a game where you DO NOT skip the tutorials.

The Horizons expansion more than doubles the game, so get the Deluxe Edition and you won't regret it. Frontier are including the next year's-worth of expansions for free for anyone who has bought Horizons, so there's more to come.

Search for Obsidian Ant on YouTube and watch his videos, they are very informative and will clue you in to the whole game universe.

I paid £120 for the lifetime pass two years ago and so far I've had around 2,500+ hours out of the game. I also bought an X52 HOTAS joystick and Oculus Rift. VR adds a lot to the game, as the cockpits of the ships are all modeled in amazing detail.

A word of caution; this is a sandbox game where you drive the narrative. There's no story. No scripted events. You just get 100CR and a basic ship and then you are on your own. A lot of people find that jarring. Also, as said - play the tutorials!
The game can be played on keyboard & mouse, but most find it easier with a pad or joystick. A basic Throttle/Stick (HOTAS) joystick can be bought for <£35 but wait until you've decided you LIKE the game before spending out.

The one game I cannot stop playing, so hot from me always!

no brainer at that price, and if you do not have any of the game, get the digital deluxe edition.

its not perfect, it has its issues but over all a great game, and with an enjoyable arena shooter arcade game tacked onto it for free as well. (CQC / Arena)

Pretty much given up on it. Great game, but they're more interested in catering for the freaks that spend their waking days on it as opposed to anyone else.

I have been waiting for the Season Pass to drop again as I missed it last time.
The game is fantastic but as others said a very steep learning curve

It plays a LOT easier with a flight stick and throttle controller

Quick note...

If all you want to do is explore and trade keyboard + mouse is fine.
Minor combat will require some kind of joystick.
If the game sucks you in, you'll need a flight stick and throttle contoller.

Been playing with vr and an xbox controller and enjoying it, any tips on getting the most or of it other than a hotas? I enjoy combat, but have found the most lucrative job to be passenger missions.
I was hoping to maybe get into the thargoid stuff, but can't seem to find a decent base with missions and upgrades and ships to buy in the region, any suggestions? For a long time I based myself at Wang city, mostly for the name, but it seemed to have some decent missions and upgrades too.

If you get this and play it with VR with a HOTAS, I have one piece of advice, get voice attack and ASTRA as well.

And say good by to reality.

Look at the Galaxy map with trade routes displayed. Filter system economies to High Tech and Refinery with mid-to-high populations (using the "min" slider). You should be able to find a busy system with lots going on. Then do missions for the controlling faction (top of the mission board) until you are Allied with them; then they will bung you all the juicy high-earning missions.

Bought one of these for my son. £37.99 argos.co.uk/pro…418 the base splits in two, to place either side of your keyboard. Works great for elite and doesn't hurt the wallet too much.

If you get hooked, then consider upgrading to one of these: currys.co.uk/gbu…ztx
Currently down from £109 to £76 using this code: GAMINGACCESSORIES30

Read all about it here: frontier.co.uk/new…017

I was at the Frontier Expo in October when all this announced.

There's a certain degree of backlash over it from some of the LifeTime pass buyers who think content shouldn't be free, as they paid up front. I can see their point to some degree, but I don't think Frontier have made a bad call.
