Elite Zumo Direct Drive Smart Interactive Turbo Trainer £425 @ Halfords (poss. £382.50 for AA Members!)

I've been looking to replace my smart turbo trainer with a Direct Drive model in time for the winter, but the fully interactive (FE-C) direct drive turbo trainers (i.e. that change the resistance via an app, like Zwift), are really expensive. The Elite Zumo also at Halfords already seems to be the cheapest model of this kind in the UK, though to a certain extent as a relatively new model it's a bit of an unknown quantity at present. Full specs in the Halfords link and there are loads of online reviews.

Halfords have it on offer at £450 down from £570, plus at the moment there's code for £25 off a £250+ spend, and on top of that AA members get a 10% discount on Halfords purchases via the app**. There is no other drive drive fully interactive model anywhere near this price in the UK, nor have I ever seen one. If you buy £50 worth of stuff at Halfords in addition, then the code will give you an extra £25 off (i.e. £50 off a £500 spend) so that's probably worth doing

I've just gone for the Elite Direto instead since that is arguably an even better deal with a built in power meter (especially as I'm an AA member - I got it for £450 at Halfords and have posted the deal separately): hotukdeals.com/dea…163

**It turns out (see the link to the thread on the Direto trainer above) that turbo trainers are excluded in the terms for the AA 10% discount though I didn't have any problem using my card on the purchase of the Direto

Good deal. Haters gonna hate.
So this doesn't have a power meter? How will that work in zwift, I thought they relied on power?
Don't bother buying one from Halfords for £450. Just bought one and one of the mounting legs was missing! They were claiming the box wasn't previously opened but it was and so was the plastic bag the turbo came in. They 'suppose' they have to give me my money back!!
